A survival game likePalworldrequires players to be on top of many things, such as hunger and resources, but there are ways to make your life easier in the long run. Crafting better tools and making full use of the in-game structures are just two ways to help with your adventure.
Another way to get stronger inPalworldis to grow your character in a way that suits your overall playstyle. With stat points coming in thick and fast with the progress made in the game, here are the best stats players should look at upgrading as soon as possible.
All Stats In Palworld
What Each Stat Actually Affects
Each time players level up inPalworld, they are granted with a new Stat Point that can be put into the selection of stats. These stats include:
Description
HP
Player vitality, players will collapse from fatigue if it reaches zero.
Stamina
Decreases when running or climbing. Players will be unable to run once this reaches zero.
Damage taken decreases as defense increases.
Work Speed
Affect the efficiency of working on various tasks at the base.
Weight
Max carrying capacity, movement will become slow when over the limit.
Each point put in can bring aboutincreasingly beneficial improvementsto everything that can be done in the game, and get you started on the right track, but there are some stats that are obviously a lot more beneficial to prioritize first.
What Stats To Upgrade First
And Why They’re Worth Focusing On
While all the upgradable stats inPalworldprovide a noticeable benefit, some stat upgrades absolutely have a more immediate effect at the start of the game. For example, while an increase in Attack is nice, it’s only a 2-point increase, while the early points into Weight add anywhere from 50-100 extra weight, meaning it’s probably worth prioritizing first. With that in mind, here are our rankings of which stats are the best to upgrade first:
Health
1
Depending on your playstyle, this may not be your highest priority, but for anyone who set their world to the ‘Hard’ setting, Health is vital. Thankfully, fall damage is pretty generous regardless of difficulty, but if you don’t add at least a couple of points into HP at the start on Hard or even Normal, it’s very likely most Pals are going to one-shot you.
2
This game has obvious mechanical inspirations from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it especially shows in how both games are highly dependant on your max Stamina. Each increase in Stamina will increase your effectiveness in climbing, searching forLifmunkEffigies, swinging a tool for longer, sprinting, and attacking.
3
While it’s not reccomended to go ‘all-in’ to a Weight specialization, getting at least 2-3 points early is almost a must. Once you start reallygetting that home base set up, being able to carry more wood/stone from one side of the base to the other is going to have a large impact. And, this also helps you bring more of a haul home each time as well.
Attack
4
Stat increases in Attack really only start to matter in the late game ofPalworldwhere players have already built the strongest weapons and armor avaliable to them. In that situation, every point increase in Attack means an easier time facing level 30+ enemies.
5
While getting a lot of points in Work Speed has a very noticeable effect, the game is calledPalworld. It’s designed so thatplayers can leave most of the hard workat their bases to the Pals, meaning a build specialized around Work Speed may end up feeling redundant.
How to Upgrade Stats in Palworld
Where Exactly Do You Allocate Your Stat Points?
As players accrue more Stat Points, it is crucial that they knowhow to upgrade the important stats. To do so,bring up the Inventoryusing the Tab key on the keyboard. Now, look to thebottom right cornerof the overlay, where the stats are displayed.
Next, simplyclick on any of the plus signsnext to the stat you want to enhance, and that’s it. Be sure to always upgrade whenever you gain a Stat Point, so that you can start benefitting immediately. Also, it’s worth knowing that currently there’s no way to enhance theDefense Statwith Stat Points. The only way to increase this stat is with armor, so ‘tanking’ builds aren’t really incentivized.
