With everything showcased so far, it seems safe to say that manyOutridersfans are looking forward to the game’s release. Itsunique take on the Sci-Fi RPG Shooter genreseems like a recipe for success, and with each monthly broadcast, it just seems to get better. Many may remember that the first broadcast showcased some Trickster gameplay, whereas the second focused on the Pyromancer. And just before the second broadcast, Game Rant spoke with People Can Fly’sOutridersGame Director Bartosz Kmita and Senior Narrative Designer Szymon Barchan a little about the game’s classes.
The Trickster is a close-range, time-oriented damage dealer, whereas People Can Fly describes the Pyromancer as a “mid range AOE damage dealer.” The next class, one which has yet to appear in a broadcast, is the Devastator. It appears to be a close-range tank class, capable of armoring up to take damage and creating seismic earthquakes. It’s had a little less screentime than others inOutriders, but its four known-about skills are Earthquake, Golem, Gravity Jump, and Reflect Bullets. Its three skill trees are called Entangler, Warden, and Seismic Shifter.

With the first twoOutridersshowcases focusing on a single class each, it seems like a safe bet that the Devastator will appear next, likely sometime in August. We asked People Can Fly if this would be the case, and the answer was telling: “That’s a good assumption.” Players more interested in a tank, which can be later adapted to fit the player’s playstyle inOutriders, should be able to see more of it in action in about a month’s time. Of course, People Can Fly did not confirm this, nor did it comment on exactly when the next broadcast would be, but it seems like a clear hint.
However, our line of thought and questioning did not end there.Outridershas kept its fourth class a secret for one reason or another, and nothing is known about it. Looking at the other classes, though, it is possible to infer some potential information (keep in mind this part is just speculation). The Trickster and Devastator are close range, and thePyromancer is mid-range. As such, it seems like the fourth class would either be a long-ranged sniper like character or another mid-range to make the ratio 2:2. Each class also has a type of theme associated with it—the Trickster has time, the Pyromancer fire, and the Devastator earth—and so too likely does the fourth class. What that is remains to be seen, however.
As far as when that is seen, if the Devastator is indeed next, then it makes sense for that fourth class to follow. When asked, People Can Fly said,
Always with mysterious things, we attempt to keep them to the end. Even if someone will outsmart us and predict the future, we are not denying this. We’re okay with that.
While not an exact confirmation, it’s a clear non-denial as well. It would make sense for it to be one of the last items revealed (which would line up with the September broadcast), asOutriderswill be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X. That likely means its Holiday 2020 release is in this time period of October or November, and it would serve as a big end to the series of broadcasts. Nonetheless, while predicting the future is all fun and games, we’ll just have to wait and see what the team has in store.
