Eiichiro Oda,One Piece’sauthor, announced last month that the manga would be going on a month-long hiatus following the conclusion ofthe series’s longest arc yet, the Wano country arc. With the series all but set to return later this month, it’s time fans get to know what to expect from the upcoming chapters of the story, as the very final saga of Oda’s magnum opus kicks off.

Shortly before the hiatus, fans saw all the fights in Wano finally conclude, with Luffy versus Kaido being the very last one of them. Seven days later, the land of Wano seems to be prospering under the new leadership of Momonosuke, the Shogun of the country. All that said, danger still looms large over the country as the World Government ships are still close by. At the same time, trouble brews in the outside world as Admiral Green Bull makes his entry into the land of Wano. All this and more will be addressed inOne Piecechapter 1054.
A New Saga Begins
Quite easily the most important part ofOne Piece’snext chapter is going to be the start of the new saga. As confirmed by Eiichiro Oda himself, chapter 1053 marked the conclusion of the Wano Country arc. While this can be confusing for quite a lot of fans as the story is still continuing in one Wano Country, the fact remains that the arc is officially over. This means thatOne Piece1054 will see the beginning of the post-Wano arc.

Fans will likely see quite a lot of chaos in the section of the arc, coupled with a massive information dump that could likely be led by Nico Robin and the newspaper that Luffy received in the previous chapter. Wano is certainly going to close in quite an intense manner with a lot of plot threads left to be tackled, such as the existence of Pluton in the country. In the previous chapter, Nico Robin and Sukiyaki revealed that Pluton sleeps in Wano and it is quite likely for Oda to go deeper into that in the next chapter as the post-Wano arc begins.
The Chaos Across The World
At the same time,One Piece1054will also focus on the chaos that’s brewing across the world for quite some time now. This connects well to the Reverie that took place whilethe war in Wanowas warming up. The 7-day event ended in massive disorder as the Revolutionary Army attacked the Celestial Dragons and the Shichibukai system was finally abolished. In One Piece chapter 956, the death of Sabo was teased and that’s something that fans could learn more about in the coming chapters once the manga returns from its hiatus. At the same time, the other Shichibukai are also likely to be focused on quite a bit.
Buggy’s rise to Yonko was recently revealed in One Piece chapter 1053 and it is possible the likes of Edward Weevil, Dracule Mihawk, and Boa Hancock will have bits revealed about them as well. The case for Boa Hancock is especially curious as Oda also teased her being in danger, alongside Sabo. What’s more, in the land of Alabasta, another tragedy seems to have struck and Vivi is possibly caught up in that. All things point towardsthe post-Wano Country arcbeing incredibly intense with a lot of information to cover.
Admiral Green Bull Vs The Alliance
While things outside of the country are certainly quite chaotic, the country itself seems to be in danger as well. In One Piece 1053, find saw Admiral Green Bull arrive in Wano and there, dispose of two of Kaido’s strongest henchmen, King and Queen, effortlessly. His next target appears to be Straw HatLuffy, who is currently partying in the Flower Capital.One Piece1054will certainly focus more on Green Bull and might even potentially give the fans a glimpse of his meeting with Luffy. The coming chapters could also tease a fight between the two, however, given the sheer numbers that the land of Wano has, a full-on fight would be unwise for the Admiral. Nonetheless, his goal is to capture Nico Robin and take Luffy’s head, and, being an Admiral, he might want to see this through.
After the hiatus,One Piecewill most likely focus on executing the perfect ending for the Wano Country segment of the story. While the arc itself is over,the Straw Hat Pirates are still in the landand have quite a few things to sort out, such as locating Kaido’s Road Poneglyph, along with finding out about the chaos in the outside world and locating Pluton. All these plot threads will be tackled after One Piece returns from its break later this month. Following that, a new arc is likely to kick off which many fans expect to be Elbaf.
