Reddit user Good_Breakfast8000 recently shared aSkyrimclip showing off the new mod called Skyclimb, made by sokco816. Using Skyclimb with other mods enabled, Good_Breakfast8000 shows how the climbing feature works in different Whiterun locations. Good_Breakfast8000 first climbs the stalls in front of the Whiterun Inn, then repeats the same process in front of Arcadia’s Cauldron, another building, and the awning surrounding theSkyrimGildergreen tree. Good_Breakfast8000’s character can jump from the areas they reach without taking fall damage, and the animations are reminiscent of other modern games. Skyclimb uses another mod called EVG Animated Traversal to accomplish these animations.
Skyclimb has already been downloaded over 10,000 times and has had several bug reports. These reports include being reset to where a player started their climb, vaulting into tables, and softlock when interacting with aSkyrimenchanting table. Because it was just released on July 31, Skyclimb may go through several changes before it’s able to reach its full potential. Despite the issues, Skyclimb’s central mechanic seems to work well as the player can easily access areas that are otherwise unreachable.
Although theSkyrimclip highlights Skyclimb in Whiterun, it may not be optimized for every part of the map. Given that the mod has already been updated, the reported problems may be resolved soon. This mod may help players explore hidden parts ofSkyrim’s open worldor reach impressive heights for in-game photography. Because of how some areas ofSkyrimare instanced, this mod may interfere with other parts of the game and could result in crashes or glitches, however.
