TBS' comedic anthology seriesMiracle Workers, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Steve Buscemi, has just gotten a new preview for its upcoming 4th season. After saving the world from heavenly wrath, surviving the Dark Ages, and braving the Oregon Trail, now the story is taking a hard turn straight into the apocalypse.
But this isn’t some hyper-religiousLeft Behind-style apocalypse. This is much more in the vein of a lessvisual effects-heavyMad Max, complete with dusty wastelands and a rad leather punk aesthetic. Just like how each previous season ofMiracle Workerscompletely changed settings and cast the same performers as different characters, season 4 will follow suit with no real connections to what came before aside from the core group of actors. It will also continue the trend of adding a fitting new subtitle.

The new season, titledMiracle Workers: End Times, now has a couple of previews for those anxious to see what Radcliffe, Viswanathan, Buscemi, and the rest have in store for them this season. Posted on theMiracle WorkersInstagram account, the first clip sets the tone for the series with a short teaser, while the second offers a bit more insight into the characters themselves. Just like the seasons that came before, Radcliffe and Viswanathan’s characters appear to be front and center, and it looks like that’s still a great decision.
While the teaser itself more or less just establishes that this is indeed a post-apocalyptic setting, a newly-released clip goes into more detail with regards to Viswanathan’s character Freya and her currently unnamed partner (presumed lover), played by Radcliffe. The clip starts by showing that even the destruction of civilization itself won’t put an end to paperwork and bills. As Freya banterswith Radcliffe’s new character, she gets a call from her parents saying they’d like to come to visit, a prospect that makes her paramour absolutely ecstatic. The clip ends as a giant floating city hovers overhead and transports two very colorfully dressed people down, with Freya revealing that her parents happen to be a part of the “ultra-wealthy .001%.”
The teaser and new clip both appear to keep up the levels of comedic writing and performancesMiracle Workersis known for. From Buscemi’s God in season 1 deciding to destroy Earth out of boredom to season 3’s memorable burlesque karaoke performance by Radcliffe to “She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain” (yes, that really happened), there’s been a pretty consistent level maintained throughout the series so far, even through staffing changes. Clearly,Radcliffe’s role inWeird: The Al Yankovic Storyis more the rule than the exception when it comes to his wonderfully surreal career.
Fans may have to wait a little while before they can finally enjoyMiracle Workers: End Times, but that just means it will be that much sweeter when it drops. November and December are already packed with plenty of new entertainment, so this will make for a nice dessert once everything quiets down. Plus, that time can be used to binge the last 3 seasons, and there’s technically no legal limit on how many times one can play Radcliffe’s karaoke scene on repeat.
Miracle Workers: End Timeswill premiere Monday, January 16th, 2023 on TBS. Seasons 1-3 are currently available to stream on HBO Max.
