Netflix’sOne Piece Live Action seriesfinally gave fans a glimpse of what is to come and it is safe to say that the vast majority of theOne Piecefans are absolutely in love with what the teaser has to offer. While there are some complaints, most fans are carefully optimistic about the Live Action series. TheOne Piece Live Actionteaser trailer featured quite a number of impactful scenes and one of them was naturally goingto be featuring Roronoa Zoro.

Zoro is the first crew member that Luffy recruitson his ship and in Netflix’sOne Piece Live Action series,he’s going to be played by Mackenyu Arata. While Mackenyu’s Zoro will stay true to character from the manga for the most part, there are things that both new and old fans should know about him.
5More Serious
Zoro is always seen as a more serious character than compared to Luffy, however, at his core, Zoro is just as stupid. In fact, some of the most comedic moments inOne Piececome through him, however, things might be different in Netflix’sOne Piece Live Action series.Zoro was shown to be a bit more maturein the Netflix version of the show. This isn’t entirely a bad thing since this show is not going to be aimed at kids.
Instead, it is going to be aimed at a more mature audience and for that, Luffy’s goofiness is likely going to be balanced out using him. That’s not to say that Mackenyu isn’t going to be a part of any fun scenes. Fans should expect him to be a part ofOne Piececomedy, which it is very famous for, however, the version of Zoro that they see will likely be a bit more mature.
4Doesn’t Name Attacks From The Get Go
One of the mostinteresting parts of Netflix’sOne PieceLive Action teaser trailerwas the fact that Zoro, apparently, did not name his moves. Fans know very well that Zoro has countless named attacks inOne Piece.The Netflix version of his character apparently doesn’t like the idea of naming his attacks.
However, when Luffy meets him, he mentions the fact that all great fighters name their finishing moves. It is possible that it is only after meeting Luffy that Zoro starts naming his attacks. This would be a very subtle moment of bonding between the two characters and fans for sure would adore this little detail.
3Is Seen Fighting Mr. 7
In both theOne Pieceanime and the manga,Zoro never fought Mr. 7 in the current timeline.This is only brought about as a past event that happened in Zoro’s life before he met Luffy for the very first time. Oda has also referenced this in an SBS, stating that Zoro fought against Mr. 7 of the Baroque Works when he was sent to recruit him for Sir Crocodile.

In Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionadaptation, Zoro will most likely fight against Mr 7. In the teaser trailer, fans saw Zoro engage in combat against someone and this person appears to be Mr. 7 of the Baroque Works. It is known that Zoro killed this person and he was then replaced by a new Mr. 7, who fans later saw in the Arabasta arc ofOne Piece.
2Potential CGI Sword
Fans know Zoro uses the infamous Three Sword Style. This means Zoro carries one katana in each of his hands and one in his mouth. Of course, for both the anime and the manga, using the Three Switch Style isn’t all that complicated for Zoro, since the animators and the artists simply need to draw it. In theOne Piece Live Action series,however, it would be very difficult for Mackenyu to pull this off.
Holding one sword between the teeth is harmful and, for this reason, it is possible that the third sword of Roronoa Zoro could be entirely done using CGI. For now, this remains unconfirmed, however, safety majors will have been taken to ensure that the actor doesn’t harm his teeth.
1Wants To Become The World’s Greatest Swordsman
Of course, the most important thing that fans should know about Mackenyu’s Zoro is the fact that he wants to become the World’s Greatest Swordsman as well. Fans who are heading new intoOne Piecethrough Netflix’sOne Piece Live Action seriesshould remember that Zoro is a man of great ambition and that he made a promise to his childhood friend to become the greatest swordsman.
At the same time, Luffy wanting to become the Pirate King would also require Zoro to be the strongest swordsman as that would be only fitting for his pirate crew. Zoro is a very ambitious person who holds his crew very dear to his heart and fans will surely love this character in Netflix’s adaptation ofOne Pieceas well.
