Mortal Kombat 11fans have a lot of upcoming content to look forward to. The game’s official Twitter has teased upcoming skins being added to the game with a focus on Sindel, Skarlet, and Scorpion among others. The skins will be added to future patch updates, though no dates have been given for release.

Since the game’s release in early 2019,Mortal Kombat 11has received multiple minor updates ranging fromgameplay adjustments, rotating online ladders, and new skin unlocks for characters. Developer NetherRealm Studios has continually supported the game by adding new rewards for players to work towards unlocking. The new skin pack includes a new look for Scorpion, reminiscent of the classic reptilian ninja, Reptile, who is not featured as a playable character in this entry of the series.

In addition to the small updates, NetherRealm Studios released a second chapter for the game’s story mode in theAftermath DLC. Released earlier this year, the major expansion added a new story taking place after the ending of the original. In addition, the DLC added new characters, stages and friendships to the game. The DLC also included an additional side character withRobocop, continuing the movie tie-in tradition the series has been known for over the past decade. Unlike prior updates, the Aftermath DLC came with a heft price tag.

Developer NetherRealm has been one of many studios in the news lately with rumors of the studio being sold off by parent company AT and T. Though new claims suggest that thesale may no longer be happening, the initial suggestion had fans speculating on the future of the studio with potential buyers rumored to have been EA, Microsoft, and Take-Two Interactive.

Meanwhile NetherRealm Studios has been busy behind the scenes. In addition to hiring staff for a new project, Ed Boon,Mortal Kombat 11’sCreative Director, is expected to be at thedigital event DC FanDomelater this month. DC FanDome is a DC-focused event teasing at future content involving its characters, with upcoming movies, games and comics and will air online on August 22.

Though not confirmed, many expect the next entry in theInjusticeseries to be revealedsoon by the developer. Hints of the game have been dropped on Twitter over the past few months by people involved in the series past. NetherRealm has typically alternated releases of both theMortal KombatandInjusticegames since the original release ofInjustice: Gods among usback in 2013.
