Once considered the “black sheep” of the franchise,Mass Effect: Andromedahas built up a bigger audience and fandom in recent years. First, its reception onSteam actually went over better thanMass Effect 3, and with theMass Effect: Legendary Editionout, many fans of the franchise migrated to the fourth game for a little more love.

In it, alongside exploring the new Heleus Cluster of the Andromeda galaxy, players gain a handful of new companions. Jaal tends to be the most popularMass Effect: Andromedacompanion, as he is a new alien, but Peebee is not far behind. As such, it’s no surprise that some have recently cosplayed the Asari companion, with Redditor funmunke showing off an awesome cosplay of the character.

Captioned “The Asari With the Elcor Dad - Peebee!,” the cosplayer manages to capture all of her details in a very concise manner. The jacket, the black around the eyes, the color in her face and hair tentacles, and more all scream Peebee as much as Peebee herself does. The only difference that manages to stand out is a small one, the fact that the cosplayer seems to be wearing lipstick. Peebee’s lips are not as bright in-game, but it’s a small change and doesn’t take away from how impressive this cosplay is.

The mention of the Elcor is hilarious and a good connection to what makes Peebee such a memorablecharacter inMass Effect: Andromeda. Throughout the original trilogy/Legendary Edition, players meet several Asari, but not a one is as bombastic as Peebee. The Elcor fact is a surprising aspect of her character, but given that, when Ryder first meets her, she jumps on them sets the tone for all her interactions. She’s defiant but intelligent, young but wise, and completely blunt from a social perspective. She demonstrates the drive for knowledge in young Asari, as well as their restlessness well, but makes them all her own with her own unique personality.

The comment with the posting adds that flair of personality to the Peebee cosplay, with the cosplayer nailing the design. Overall, it’s a very realistic interpretation of Peebee, and extra noteworthy asMass Effectis one of the hardest video game franchises to cosplay. There’s certainly no shortage ofMass Effectcosplays for characters like Tali and Shepardout there, but it seems that going with Peebee is just a wee bit of an extra step.

Mass Effect: Andromedais available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
