Mash ofMashle: Magic and Musclesis an ordinary teenager born magicless in a world where people like him are considered an abomination against God and frequently get executed to keep the gene pool pure. So when he enrolls at the prestigious and historic Easton Magic Academy, he has no friends as he has lived almost the entirety of his life isolated from the outside world. The Bully Who Became a Reliable Amigo
In the Easton Enrollment Arc, students from different Houses are tasked to hunt Forest Scorpions to earn a Bronze or Silver Coin. During the outdoor class, Dot spits on Mash’s face and tries to humiliate him because of his jealousy. But later that day, he crosses paths with a Lang student named Silva who beats him up.
Things take an interesting turn when Silva ends up fighting Mash. It ends horribly for the former as Burnedead makes him helpless forcing him to surrender.In the aftermath of the intense fight, Dot reluctantly thanks Mash. With no chance of competing with Burndead, Dot’s one-sided rivalry slowly turns into friendship.
5Wahlberg Baigan
The Headmaster of Easton Magic Academy Who Always Defends Mash
As Mash leaves his home behind to enroll at the Easton Magic Academy, no one has sympathy for him as the markless are looked down upon and treated as an abomination against God. But there is one exception,the Headmaster of the academy, Wahlberg Baiganwho gives Mash the respect he deserves. During the entrance exam when a teacher plots against him, Wahlberg makes sure that he disciplines him.
Later when Mash beats up Lloyd and vice-principal Farman, Baigan sides with him again and bemoans the deep-rooted moral corruption that has penetrated the society. Wahlberg encourages Burnedead to become a Divine Visionary as he expects him to someday make the reforms that the world desperately needs.
In the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc, after Mash’slack of magical powers is exposed, he is summoned by the Bureau of Magic for a hearing. Almost all the Divine Visionaries are in favor of his execution but Wahlberg intervenes and tries his best to protect Burndead. It can be said without reasonable doubt that no one has fought as religiously as Baigan for Mash’s rights, so he is undoubtedly one of the most reliable friends he has.
4Lemon Irvine
Mash’s Eccentric Friend Who is in Love With Him
Lemon Irvine is a strange teenager who comes from an impoverished family. Therefore, getting into Easton Magic Academy means a lot to her as she is desperate to relieve her parents from their financial woes. When she takes the entrance exam, Professor Claude Lucci tries to use her poverty as an advantage and convinces her to sabotage Mash. But things take an unexpected turn when Mash saves Lemon from a monster following which she admits her mistake.
Mash’s compassion and kindness win Lemon’s heart and she falls in love with him. When she later meets Mash’s father, Regro Burnedead in the Divine Visionary Selection Exam Arc, she introduces herself as his future wife.Lemon and Mash’s friendshipis strange and hilarious, but that does not change the fact that the duo are willing to put their lives on the line to protect one another.
3Lance Crown
Mash’s Rival-Turned-Friend
Lance Crown is one of the most talented students at the Easton Magic Academy. He passed the entrance exam with flying colors and is determined to become the Divine Visionary to protect his sister. In the pursuit of his ambitious goals, he crosses paths with Mash and challenges him to a duel. Burnedead outclasses Lance forcing him to admit defeat.
Following their confrontation, Crown slowly turns friendly toward Mash and his peers. Over time, the rivalry pivots into friendship and Lance becomes an important member of Burndead’s group. Interestingly, he also visits Mash’s house andmeets his adoptive father Regroalong with Finn, Lemon, and Dot.
2Finn Ames
Mash’s Most Trustworthy Homeboy at Easton Magic Academy
When Finn learns that Mash is going to be his roommate, he is initially cautious. He is later forced by Lloyd to vandalize Mash’s belongings but refuses to continue after being repeatedly asked to bully his roommate. Finn risks his well-being and gets beaten up by Lloyd for his resistance. But when Mash learns about the incident, he comes to Finn’s rescue and teaches Lloyd a lesson.His heroic actions pave the foundation of his friendshipwith Finn.
In the Easton Enrollment Arc, Mash immediately springs into action to save Finn when he gets abducted along with Tom and Lemon. The incident strengthens their bond, which gets tested in the aftermath ofthe Magia Lupus Arc. After students at the East Magic Academy learn about Mash’s magiclessness, there is immense pressure on Finn to abandon his friend as he can potentially get into trouble for it. However, Ames continues to defend his friend despite the risks, proving himself to be Burnedead’s most reliable friend.

Mash’s Adoptive Father Who Accepts Him For Who He Is
Regro Burnedead is an emotional and kind man who was mocked for his weak magical talent for almost the entirety of his life.The bullying and humiliationwere so bad that he even contemplated suicide. But when he was about to take the drastic step he accidentally found a boy who appeared to have been abandoned by his parents. Interestingly, Regro noticed that the infant was born markless, which meant that he risked being executed if the authorities learned about his existence.
Suddenly finding a purpose in raising the kid, Regro overcame his suicidal urge.The abandoned boy grew up to become Mash, whom Regro kept isolated from the outside world and protected at every turn. The relationship of the father-son duo naturally strengthened over time and Mash even agreed to enroll at the Easton Magic Academy only to protect his adoptive parent. Regro and Mash’s connection goes beyond blood ties and it would not be wrong to call them one another’s best friend, as they stick to each other through thick and thin.
