Fans have expressed their desire to see web attacks that were featured in the video gameSpider-Man: Shattered DimensionsinMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.Shattered Dimensionswas released in 2010 and various versions of the web slinger performed all kinds of crazy attacks with their web abilities.Marvel’s Spider-Man 2will be the first video game to feature multiple versions of the character in several years.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensionsis generally considered to be one of thebetter games to feature Spider-Man. The premise for the game involved multiple versions of Spider-Man from different dimensions trying to keep an amulet out of villainous hands. The game itself was said to be the primary inspiration for Dan Slott’sSpider-Man: Spider-Verseevent comic which, in turn, served as the key inspiration for the 2018 film,Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. To this day, the game still has its fans who want to see elements of it make a comeback.

The various version of the web slinger inShattered Dimensionseach had their own uniqueSpider-Man abilitiesbased on their respective character. These included several enormous web attacks from the normal version of Spider-Man and symbiote based abilities from another version who still has the Black Suit. In a recent post, Reddit user MattMysterious9 expressed a desire to see some of these more over the top abilities inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. The comments, for the most part, seemed to agree with the original poster.
WhenMarvel’s Spider-Manoriginally hit selves in 2018, it quickly became a big hit. As of this writing, the game has sold over 33 million copies worldwide and has since been released on PlayStation 5 and PC. A followup,Spider-Man: Miles Moraleswas released in 2020, before a full sequel to both games calledMarvel’s Spider-Man 2was revealedin late 2021. That game will feature Venom and with the franchise’s high sales it may be able to take a few more risks with the characters' abilities.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensionswould eventually get a direct sequel titledSpider-Man: Edge of Time,though it wasn’t as well received as its predecessor. In addition toSpider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, the game’s fingerprints can be seen onSpider-Man: No Way Home. Some in fact callSpider-Man: Shattered Dimensionsa game players should tryif they enjoyedNo Way Home. While it is unlikely that players will see a followup to the game anytime soon, hopefullyMarvel’s Spider-Man 2will take a few notes from the game’s abilities.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is scheduled to release in 2023 on PS5.
