A fan ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2has produced a hilarious concept for a potential Spider-Ham suit in Insomniac’s sequel. The studio has yet to reveal all the suits inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, but this would be a fun way to kick things off.
Choosing a suit in the originalMarvel’s Spider-Manwas one of the best parts of the experience. The game offered many different options to choose from, and each one seemed to create a brand-new Peter Parker to play through the game as. It’s good to see that this choice will remain crucial to the sequel, as it has already been revealed that thesymbiote suit will be usable inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. It makes sense - it is one of the defining Spider-Man suits, so it was always going to make an appearance in the franchise at some point.

Redditor SuperDaltron posted the hilarious mockup design, showcasing what Spider-Ham could look like as part ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. Interestingly, he has the proportions of a regular Spider-Man, as opposed to the cartoony design featured inSpider-Man: Into The Spiderverse, where he first gained widespread popularity and was portrayed by comedian John Mulaney. The user seemed to think of everything, even indicating how the costume could bring anew suit ability toMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. The Spider-Ham suit would unlock the “Looney Hammer,” which hits the ground with his trademark hammer and “produces a shockwave that knocks enemies away.” It would certainly be an interesting ability to see in action.
As a gag costume, Spider-Ham certainly works. It could work in the same way as the underwear suit in the original game, which saw Spider-Man swinging around New York in his underwear. Other users had some great suggestions for ways to improve on the idea further, including cartoon sound effects in place of normal combat sounds. There’s asuit mod forMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Moralesthat actually does this same thing, and it could be a fun excuse to bring it back as an official feature.
Gamers have plenty of ideas forsuits inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, and hopefully Insomniac takes the opportunity to get creative with it. The studio has decades of material to pull from, so it won’t be lacking options. Sure, playing in Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man suits will never stop being cool, but it’s been done before, and there are certainly some great costumes to pull from deep in Spidey-lore that would represent more interesting options. Something truly out of the box, like Nicholas Hammond’s 1977 Spider-Man suit or this Spider-Ham design, would be an amazing love letter to the franchise.
