Two LucasArts games from the SNES era will be making their way onto Nintendo Switch this summer. Disney Interactive is publishing the re-release ofZombies Ate My Neighborsand its sequelGhoul Patrol, two run-and-gun style games known for their humor and gameplay. They will be released under the Lucasfilm Classic Games banner. SinceLucasfilm Games' reestablishment earlier this year, the company has been working on new titles such as anIndiana Jonesgame with an original story and an open-worldStar Warsgame.

Zombies Ate My NeighborsandGhoul Patrolare not the only LucasArts games to be revived for the Switch this year. Following a leak in February, the 2005 tactical first-person shooterStar Wars: Republic Commandowas released for the Switchand PS4 in April. ThoughRepublic Commandowas playable through backward compatibility in 2018, the Switch release forZombies Ate My NeighborsandGhoul Patrolmarks their first re-release since 2010 on the Wii Virtual Console.

Zombies Ate My NeighborsandGhoul Patrolwill be receiving some quality of life upgrades for their release on theNintendo Switch. Players will now be able to save anywhere, discover additional museum content, and get achievements for performing certain tasks in the game. Both games will retain single-player and local co-op modes. The story inZombies Ate My Neighborsand its sequel revolves around Zeke and Julie, two teenagers who must brandish backyard weapons and even travel to different worlds in order to rescue their neighbors from various horror movie monsters.

WhileGhoul Patrolis less well-known,Zombies Ate My Neighborsis considered to be a cult classic by many gamers because of its surprisingly deep gameplay and humorous horror atmosphere. Most of the monsters in the game are present in classic horror films from the 1950’s and earlier, but the game also contains influences from slasher films likeTexas Chainsaw MassacreandFriday the 13th. For fans of cheesy horror,Zombies Ate My Neighborsis one of thebest LucasArts games of the 90sand will now be easier to play than ever.

The combo experience with both horror games will be available for purchase via the Nintendo eShop. There are over 70 levels to get through with pop culture inspired names like Weird Kids on the Block and Dances With Werewolves. Players can also learn a bit about the creation of the game in a short video interview with a LucasArts developer as part of the museum content. Now thatZombies Ate My NeighborsandGhoul Patrolare getting a modern console release, more people will be able to enjoy theseforgotten LucasArts classics.
