Since last summer, rumors have been swirling that a remaster ofThe Legend of Dragoonwas in the works at Bluepoint Games. Nothing has been announced yet, but a new leak may have bad news for fans who were looking forward to the possibility of aLegend of Dragoonremaster or remake.

Amassive PS5 leakwas posted on 4chan over a week ago, but it’s getting a little more attention now that one of its claims has been corroborated. The leak seems to have been correct about the new PlayStation slogan, which lends more credibility to other claims made by the leaker. One such claim is that aDemon’s Soulsremaster is set to be revealed alongside the PS5 at a rumored reveal event on February 5, which would likely mean that Bluepoint’s next game isDemon’s Soulsand notThe Legend of Dragoon.

If the leak is accurate,Legend of Dragoonfans will no doubt be upset by this. However, it’s just as likely that the leak isn’t right. While it did seem to predict the new PlayStation slogan, the post also said that Sony was going to be at E3 this year, but we now know that Sony is skipping E3 2020. So not all hope is lost just yet.

And even if Bluepoint’s next game is aDemon’s Soulsremaster instead ofThe Legend of Dragoon, that doesn’t mean aLegend of Dragoonremaster can’t materialize eventually.Legend of Dragoonfan petitionshave amassed thousands of signatures already, so there’s clearly a demand for the game. Maybe this fan demand will inspire Bluepoint to pursue aLegend of Dragoonremaster as its next project.

If Bluepoint never makes aLegend of Dragoonremaster, it’s possible that fans will take matters into their own hands. ALegend of Dragoonfan remake has started production using RPG Maker, recreating the original game with a completely different art style. It may not have the graphical upgrade that a big budgetLegend of Dragoonremake would, but it’s better than nothing.

In the meantime, those feeling nostalgic forLegend of Dragoonhave a relatively painless way to play the game.Legend of Dragoonis available as aPSOne Classicon the PlayStation Store, so fans can play it on PS3, PSP, or PS Vita.
