Leaks have become an inevitable part of the gaming industry and gamer experience, so naturallylarge-scale leaksare bound to occur every now and then, which is what happened this weekend. This may be good news for fans of Square Enix RPGs, however, as this latest example could provide further evidence that the company is working not just on the highly-anticipatedKingdom Hearts 4but a remaster of the PS1 adventureChrono Crosstoo, among other things.
Over the weekend, a programmer managed to access the database forNvidia’s game-streaming service GeForce Nowand unearthed a hefty list of unreleased titles. Said list covers a massive variety of potential game projects from a variety of publishers, ranging from new PlayStation PC ports to completely new and unannounced titles.

Assuming it’s legit, the fact thatKingdom Hearts 4is one of the games listed could be a promising sign. It’s been well over two years sinceKingdom Hearts 3’s release, and while the franchise has kept its story building towards a major new entry, Square Enix has yet to confirm whether or not a mainline followup is currently in development. However, if the game is now being listed in GeForce Now’s database, it suggests that it could be real and in active development by this point, potentially meaning that the wait forKingdom Hearts 4won’t be too long.
What might intrigue longtime Square Enix fans more, however, is the possibility ofChrono Crossbeing remastered. The followup to the beloved classicChrono Trigger, the 1999 RPG hasn’t received much in the way of new releases over the last 22 years.Chrono Crossis often overshadowed byChrono Trigger, but the game was very well received back in the day and still has its fans, so a remaster could go a long way towards showing new players what makes it special.
Kingdom Hearts 4and theChrono Crossremaster are just part of the Square Enix titles listed in the Nvidia leak. In addition to already-announced titles likeFinal Fantasy 16andFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, the leak teases the existence of aFinal Fantasy 9remake and aFinal Fantasy Tacticsremaster. These are all huge projects, and the fact that different reputable sources have begun backing up parts of the Nvidia leak is rather encouraging.
Of course, though, all leaks should be taken with a grain of salt until otherwise confirmed or denied. It’s worth noting that even if the listings are real, there’s always the possibility that the games themselves aren’t in active development yet or have been cancelled. It remains to be seen if fans will be gettingKingdom Hearts 4,Chrono Cross, or any of these Square Enix projects any time soon, or at all, but their inclusion here is promising nonetheless.
