The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildproved to be an influential title for open-world games at large, many of which didn’t incentivize exploration and freedom due to reliance on overused tropes. The Legend of Zelda:Breath of the Wild 2was announced to be in development in 2019, which sparked a lot of rumors and speculations. Fans are already excited about all the new things the game would have in store, including hopes of seeing Princess Zelda as a playable character. That being said, Nintendo has remained tight-lipped on most rumors, with almost no information shelled out since the announcement. Recently, however, Nintendo revealed during the latest Direct that more information would be shared before the end of 2021.
Interesting Speculations For Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2’s Release
It has been speculated that Nintendo may intentionally be hiding information from fans for a big reveal sometime soon. 2021 has brought with itself a bunch ofrumors regarding a new Nintendo Super Switch. It isn’t confirmed yet, but a recent Samsung statement seems to give more wind to such rumors, and Nintendo’s targeted hardware sales for the next seem to line up pretty well. If there’s a chance that an updated Switch is in development, it could make for the perfect moment regarding a Zelda release.
Nintendo’s reliance on its darling franchises to drive its console sales is well known and isn’t something to be frowned upon. The Switch launched withZelda: Breath of the Wildand it makes sense to release the sequel along with an updated console. The first game showcased the potential of the relatively weaker handheld, and the sequel could walk the same road. It’s speculated that it could be aNintendo Super Switch exclusive, and there could be some truth behind that.
However, Nintendo’s statements regarding the game being in development for the Switch makes such a prospect unlikely. That being said, it could prove for an interesting comparison between the consoles with the rumored Super Switch being the superior way to play the game featuring better visual fidelity and potentially better performance as well.
