WWE 2K23’s Showcase mode is centered around John Cena, with 17iconic John Cena matchesfor players to relive. Match 1 is Cena’s unforgettable showdown with Rob Van Dam from the ECW One Night Stand event in 2006. Rather than controlling Cena, however, players will find themselves in the shoes of RVD and will need to complete 14 objectives to emerge victorious.

Completing One of a Kind will rewardWWE 2K23players withnumerous unlockables, the most notable of which is Rob Van Dam. They’ll also unlock the ECW One Night Stand Arena (‘06), the WWE Championship (‘05 - ‘13), and John Cena’s One Night Stand attire. The latter is tied to Cena’s ‘06 model, however, meaning that players won’t be able to use it until they’ve beaten Edge in Match 8.

I remember Rob started off really fast, trying to deal some big damage before I knew what was happening!
Deal enough damage to fill the meter.
Then he used a Hammer Throw to toss me to the floor like a sack of potatoes!
Grab Cena and then press and hold the grab button while pointing the left analog stick toward the ropes to throw Cena out of the ring.
He stayed on me, rocking me with two of those Heavy Combos of his!
Perform any two Heavy Combos. To check RVD’s moves, players can pause the game and head to the COMBOS menu.
Once we got back in the ring, I hoped to get a second chance to breathe, but Rob kept it moving by sending me into the ropes with an Irish Whip!
Head back into the ring, grab Cena, and then press the grab button again while pointing the left analog stick toward the ropes.
Rob knew he needed to get back into the match, and found a way with a Diving Moonsault from the top rope to the floor!
Knock Cena down while outside of the ring and then climb to the top rope. With Cena still down, press the X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) button.
He also connected with that Corkscrew Leg Drop of his while I was across the barricade!
Grab Cena and then throw him against the barrier that’s adjacent to the bottom of the ring using a light Irish Whip. Then, press the Circle (PlayStation) or B (Xbox) button to perform a Corkscrew Leg Drop.
When I finally got back to my feet, RVD was waiting with a Steel Chair, ready to attack me in the ring!
While outside of the ring, walk over to the apron and press the L1 (PlayStation) or LB (Xbox) button. When the weapons ring appears, select a Steel Chair and then head back into the ring. With Cena standing in the ring, hit him with the chair to complete the objective.
And when I was down, he brought the storm with his Signature Rolling Thunder!
Fill the Signature meter and then knock Cena down. While standing to the side of him, press R2 + Square (PlayStation) or RT + X (Xbox).
I was hurt, but not done. RVD would Grab me in the ring when I got to my feet, looking for a Front Heavy Grapple!
While in the ring, grab Cena and then press the X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) button.
I’d really hurt Rob with that slingshot. He knew he’d have to launch a Dive Attack from the Top Rope if he wanted the momentum back!
Knock Cena down in the ring and then climb onto the top turnbuckle. While there, press either Square or X (PlayStation) or X or A (Xbox) to perform a dive attack.
Once he’d connected, RVD once again tossed me to the floor with a Hammer Throw - he knew the match couldn’t end out there.
Grab Cena and then press and hold the grab button while pointing the left analog stick toward the ropes to throw Cena down to the floor.
He followed me to ringside, where he stung me with a Light Combo!

While I was recovering, RVD grabbed a Table from the apron and Set It Up in the Corner!
Grab a table from under the apronand then head back inside the ring. Pick the table up again using L1 (PlayStation) or LB (Xbox) and then walk towards any of the four corners and press the X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) button.
I got back in the ring and again Rob Grabbed me, looking to set up another Front Heavy Grapple. It was now or never for me!
