AHogwarts Legacyplayer recently shared a video of them following Sebastian down into the depths of Hogwarts. However, what initially looked like it would be a huge surprise involving secret passages turned out to be a surprising disappointment that showed howHogwarts Legacy’s pathfinding systems are far from perfect.

Exploring Hogwarts Castle and its surroundings is undeniably one of the biggest joys inHogwarts Legacy. This was the first time thatHarry Potterfans could explore the area in an open-world title and Avalanche Software tried its best to make the world feel alive. TheHogwarts Legacyexperience is filled with memorable moments, such aswatching dragons stealing cows from farmsor hearing unique conversations from students in Hogwarts’ halls. However, not all moments are equally magical and well-crafted.

Recently,Hogwarts Legacyplayer Mercat_15 shared a clip on Reddit showing their ill-fated journey. In the video, it’s possible to see the gamer following Sebastian for around a minute. Initially, they follow the Slytherin wizard down some stairs, and it really seems like he’s going somewhere as he enters a gloomy dark room. However, Sebastian then just keeps walking, eventually hitting a wall. Sebastian continues to walk into the wall until the end of the clip. It’s fairly disappointing that Sebastian didn’t go througha secret passage behind a fireplaceor something like that, only getting stuck in what’s clearly a bug related toHogwarts Legacy’s pathfinding systems.

People in the Reddit comments joked that theSlytherin wizard Sebastian Sallowwas actually hiding something and that he was only trying to pretend he was only an NPC stuck on the wall to avoid being discovered. The original poster responded that he was walking with “such purpose” that they were really fooled by thinking that the character was actually going somewhere. Others complained that the issue was fairly common, as following NPCs around often ended in them getting stuck in walls instead of having a routine or a course that they would follow.

This is far from the first time that Sebastian has starred in a famous glitch inHogwarts Legacy. Last week, aHogwarts Legacygamer spottedSebastian doing the Irish Riverdance. In a short video, it’s possible to see poor Sebastian trapped by a bug that made him move his legs at incredible speed, and it looked like he was tap dancing.; Fortunately, most of these bugs do not detract from the experience of the game too much.

Hogwarts Legacyis out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming May 5 and a Nintendo Switch port dropping July 25.
