Hogwarts Legacy Fans Are Worried About the Sequel
If aHogwarts Legacysequel does go the live-service route, one has to wonder how exactly it will work. It’s possible that the game will focus on giving away paid DLC cosmetics, but it’s also possible that the live-service elements will see it morph from a single-player action-RPG to some kind of multiplayer-focused game. On one hand, many fans would jump at the chance toexplore Hogwarts castlewith their friends, but on the other hand, this would risk alienating the manyHarry Potterenthusiasts that turned out for the originalHogwarts Legacy.
Perhaps a compromise could be reached that sees a properHogwarts Legacy 2single-player adventure with some optional multiplayer elements mixed-in. Maybe Quidditch could be added for competitive online multiplayer, and the live-service elements could be relegated to that instead of impacting the core experience. Then again, astandalone Quidditch multiplayer gameis already in development, so that may not be a possibility forHogwarts Legacy 2.
Whatever shape it takes,Hogwarts Legacy’s incredible financial successvirtually guarantees thatHogwarts Legacy 2is going to happen on some point. Whether it’s a live-service game or something more in line with the original remains to be seen, but fans will likely be worried until they get concrete answers.
