Summary

A hilariousDestiny 2clip shows Xur only handing out one specific Exotic helmet to a player via the random Engram drop, twice in a row. Funnily enough, Xur, was selling the same exotic helmet directly which the player did not want to acquire, but the vendor had other plans. For those unaware,Xur shows up at a random location inDestiny 2after resetevery Friday and lets players grab specific and random Exotic armor and weapons, along with certain Legendary weapons and armor pieces as well.

The ongoingDestiny 2Season of the Wish brought back Riven, an old foe from the Forsaken expansion, in spirit form. Previously, Season 22 had revealed an Ahamkara egg that was in Savathun’s possession, which was the key for the Guardians in their pursuit of The Witness. However, Riven also revealed that there were many other eggs hidden in the Dreaming City, and only agreed to help the Vanguard if they recovered all of them. In this conquest, Guardians will need the best build and gear as they navigate the undiscovered areas of the Dreaming City; however, Xur seems to be making life difficult for one particular Guardian.

On theDestiny 2subreddit, user ellisxiii posted a clip of them trying to acquire a new piece of Exotic armor from Xur. They checked out the Skull of Dire Ahamkara Exotic Warlock helmet which was directly available for purchase, but it probably wasn’t what they were looking for, which is why they opted for a random drop via the Exotic Engram instead. However, Xur ended up handing them the same exotic helmet twice in a row, which the community found hilarious. Several players in the comments mentioned how the Skull of Dire Ahamkara needed a rework, where one fan also joked that this was given to the player by Xur because “It truly is an ahamkara season.”

One reason for the player not wanting to pick up The Skull of Dire Ahamkara could also be becauseDestiny 2Season 23’s Artifact modsfocus heavily on Solar, Stasis, and Strand subclasses. Players’ disappointment with the absence of Stasis mods in Season 22’s Artifact was the chief reason behind this, and now that there is hardly any incentive to use other subclasses, players are sticking to Stasis, Solar and Strand meta builds across character classes.

However, Bungie is currently experiencing one of the lowest moments in its 32 years of operation, with a fall inDestiny 2’s popularity and average player count, a 45% drop in revenue forecast, and massive layoffs. Arecent report also revealed the grim environment at Bungieafter the layoffs, which could get worse as the developer jostles to maintain its independence after being acquired by Sony.
