The movie is set in the 1970s and its main hero, Hilly Krystal (Rickman), owns a music club. Even though he initially doesn’t want to do so, he agrees that rock bands can play their music in his club as well. With one condition - it has to be their original work.
His club CBGB and Krystal himself go on to become the godfathers of punk and punk rock.CBGBis a must-watch forall fans of rock, punk, and punk rock.
