A new leak fromGenshin Impactmay reveal how players will first arrive to the game’s next major region of Fontaine, markedly different from previous rumors. With theHoYoverse RPG launching Version 3.6early last week, the developer introduced the newest expansion to the game’s playable area, expanding the Sumeru desert to the north. The Sumeru desert update has previously been hinted as the last addition to the region before the game launches Fontaine as its fifth major playable area in Version 4.0. Now, players are getting a better idea of how they will arrive to Fontaine.Fontaine has already seen several rumors and leaks hinting at what to expect fromGenshin Impact’s next new region. In-game lore as well as leaks have presented the domain of the Hydro Archon as a highly technologically-advanced civilization with a central theming of “justice.” Several leaks have already revealed in-game models for future playable characters from the Fontaine region with recent rumors suggesting one will make an appearance in the upcoming Version 3.7. The post, shared byGenshinleaker Tao, has revealed that the route to the region will lead players to Fontaine from the game’s most recent region of Sumeru. The update comes as previous leaks heavily suggested Liyue would be receiving an update before Version 4.0, withthe rumored Qiaoying Villageto serve as the entrance to Fontaine.
Fontaine serves as the largest of several new areas heavily rumored to be coming toGenshin Impactin the near future, with some being closer than others. Leaks fromGenshin Impact’s Version 3.8, expected to launch in July, have teased anew limited-time region coming to Teyvat. Mondstadt and Liyue have also been heavily rumored to be receiving expansions within the near future. Mondstadt’s Dornman Port is expected to be introduced as a northern port town and Liyue’s Qiaoying Village is speculated to be in the region’s northwestern corners.
While players will still be waiting a few more months for the arrival of Fontaine, HoYoverse looks to have plenty in store to keep fans occupied. Version 3.6, along with the new addition to Sumeru, saw two characters join the roster with Baizhu and Kaveh as two new Dendro users. The game’s newest element will receive another new member withKirara revealed as a Dendro Sword userfrom Inazuma coming with Version 3.7. Between new characters and new regions,Genshin Impactis set to grow substantially throughout the rest of 2023.
