Now, a pair of arrests have reportedly been made in connection with the cheats.

A new update posted to HoYoverse’s official platform has revealed the Xuhui Police have made two arrests related toGenshin Impact’s ongoing battle against cheaters. The cheaters, referred to as “Zhang and Xie,” were reportedly apprehended and detained on charges of “computer information system sabotage” relating to the cheats. HoYoverse references its multiple legal successes in prosecuting violators of the game’s terms of service and disclosing classified information within the post. The developer concludes the post by encouragingGenshin Impactplayers to assist in providing clues to help apprehend more criminal leakers and cheaters.

While nothing was said about the status of HoYoverse’s campaign against leakers, the developer has shown in the past it is not afraid to pursue legal action.HoYoverse has previously filed lawsuits against both Discordand Twitter for the purpose of obtaining identifying information about several prominent leakers. Well-known leakers like Ubatcha and Merlin Impact have often found themselves in the sights of the developer’s anti-leaks campaign. Despite the studio’s increased efforts to curb the flow of leaks,Genshin Impacthas continued to see major future content revealed early.
