While it was already possible to runNintendo games on the Steam Deck, this modified device should make it easier to play Nintendo DS titles on Valve’s system.

Gamer Modifies Their Steam Deck in an Interesting Way

TyePower also posted how they got the second screen on the Steam Deck to work, along with everything that was used to modify the system. The extra screen is a 7-inch portable monitor that was attached using a detachable mount which can be removed when the device is not in use. The portable monitor is powered by a battery pack that is attached to the Steam Deck through the use of magnets. TyePower used aNintendo emulatorthat allows a two-window mode that runs while in the desktop feature of the handheld. Other than a few adjustments, the gamer stated that they did not have to do much else to get things up and running. They also mentioned that the device is not too heavy despite the second screen and that the battery life is great.

TyePower’s post has gotten over 4,000 upvotes since it was shared. A few gamers stated that they want to build their own dual-screen Steam Deck now that they have seen what TyePower was capable of putting together. One commenter said they are convinced that the Steam Deck can do anything and joked that the system’s next update will add arms and the ability to make beef Wellington.
