A new trailer for the upcomingFront Mission 2: Remakeshows off some of the gameplay players can expect from the game. Theannouncements of theFront Missionremakeshad already been revealed during the Nintendo Direct event from this past February.
The game is part of theFront Missionfranchise, a tactical turn-based RPG series where players face off against each other with mechs called “Wanzers.” The remakes for theSquare EnixgamesFront Mission 1andFront Mission 2will be available on the Nintendo Switch when they come out. Currently, both remakes have release windows instead of set release dates withFront Mission 1st: Remakecoming out this October 2022, andFront Mission 2: Remakereleasing some time in 2023.

The new gameplay trailer for theFront Mission 2: Remakewas revealed by Forever Entertainment, the publisher of the remake, showing footage of the remake in action. Based on what’s shown in the trailer, the remake will still retain the tactical turn-based combat that theFront Missiongamesare well-known for. The video shows the tactical RPG elements are very much alive and well in the game’s remake.
The trailer shows off some of theturn-based combat game, such as “Wanzers” being moved into position against their enemy before they strike. The video quickly shows glimpses of the game’s customization features for the mechs that players can use and some locations that will make an appearance in the remake. TheFront Mission 2: Remakewill retain the core turn-based combat along with the mature story that was told in the original game.
Players can expect to receive a revitalized version ofFront Mission 2with updated visuals, new features, and new enhancements. The remake will also come with a renewed soundtrack, modern in-game effects, and the game will have support for many new languages in the remake. However, neither the trailer nor the game’s official website reveal details on which new languages will be available for the remake at this time.
There will also be a newfree camera gameplay featurethat will allow players to zoom in during gameplay to see the mechanical Wanzers in greater detail. This free camera feature was shown in the new gameplay trailer with the various close-ups of the Wanzer mechs in combat. However, there is still no new information on the upcoming remake’s official release date at the time of writing. So, players will need to keep an eye out for any information on the release date forFront Mission 2: Remake.
