The Reaper Job is one of the newest additions toEndwalker, the 2021 expansion of theFinal Fantasy 14MMO. Unlike other Jobs in theFinal Fantasygame, the Reaper uses the power of shadows and death itself in order to protect their allies and eliminate enemies who stand in their way. And appropriately enough, Reapers trust the power of Scythes to reap the power of shadows and use them throughout combat.

And for players currently using the new Sage and Reaper Jobs, they’re likely eager to see what awaits their characters in the endgame of the current MMO’s gameplay loop. With that in mind, players who are actively engaged with the Reaper Job might want to grab some of thebest Scythes in Final Fantasy 14, including a scythe from the moon, a sickle that looks like a staff, and even a scythe that is rather holy in its aesthetic.

When players gather a Phrygian Weapon Coffer from the Junkmongers in Thavnair or Mare Lamentorium, or even in the latter’s Pillar of Industry, chances are high they might be able to obtain aBismuth War Scythe. Despite its simple stats, the Bismuth War Scythe is evidently one of the more visually-appealing Scythes out there.
Aside from its simple staff base, it’s the Bismuth War Scythe’s top that takes the cake. Near the top of the staff are mechanical components that get into a joint-like base that carries the rest of the weapon. The rear end of the scythe’s blade is a motor-like component with a shorter blade, with the primary scythe having serrated edges, giving it a chainsaw-like appearance. This grittier, more ‘industrial” take on the Scythe easily makes the Bismuth War Scythe an appealing piece to add to the Reaper’s collection, especially since it resemblesan Astrologian’s weapon.
14Palaka War Scythe
The Palaka Maiming Set has this straightforward quality to it that fits the Reaper who has just entered the first steps toward the endgame, and thePalaka War Scytheis an excellent introductory weapon of choice. While it lacks a bit on the base Physical Damage and Auto Attack side, it does boast decent-enoughVitality,Strength, andDeterminationto carry a Reaperthrough basic dungeonsshould it have a heavy damage build - something the DPS class could easily pull off.
Players can obtain the Manganese War Scythe from theJunkmongers at Elpis, through theIronwood Weapon Coffer.
12Ktiseos Zaghnal
The Ktiseos Maiming Set has quite an imposing appearance, especially with its sleek black outfit with edged details. TheKtiseos Zaghnalis a good addition to this aesthetic, given the weapon’s reverse bladed edge and another end that has the appearance of a hammer. It boasts decentPhysical Damage and Auto Attack, as well as an impressive focus towardsVitality,Strength, andCritical Hitgiven its boosts.
This weapon works well for a Reaper that wants to focus on a crit-based build, withemphasis on excellent crit hitsinstead of consistent but lower base damage. 11Chondrite Magitek War Scythe
The Chondrite Maiming Set adds a steampunk officer aesthetic to the usually edgy Reaper, which is a welcome change to its overall appearance. Not to mention, theChondrite Magitek War Scytheadds a healthy number of gears and coils to the scythe aesthetic, giving the Reaper quite a mechanical appearance quite unlike other tropes.
Granted, the weapon’s aesthetics do compensate for its rather mediocre Physical Damage and Auto Attack, but its decent bonuses towardsVitality,StrengthandCritical Hitcould carry the Reaperthrough some of the more basic endgame dungeonsdesigned for the game.

The weapon boasts decentPhysical Damage and Auto Attack, as well as equal bonuses toStrengthandVitality, withCritical Hitbecoming a close second.
This focus on the Critical Hit bonus implies that the Death Sickle is designed for Reapers who want to focus on critical-based builds, which can become quite useful in endgame dungeons that players want to clear as fast as possible. Players can obtain the Death Sickle fromVarsarudh at the Agora in Old Sharlayan.
9Moonward Crux

The Classical Eques’s Set takes cues from classical aesthetics, with its dark clothing inspired by times of antiquity as well as the winged circlet to top its armor. Fitting the trope is theClassical War Scythe, which by all means looks like the ordinary scythe. However, this weapon is no pushover, considering its decentPhysical Damage and Auto Attack, as well as bonuses towardVitality,Strength, andDirect Hit Rate.
