Summary
Far Cry 7is only rumored to be in development, but it will likely happen at some point. It could be argued that the villains in theFar Cryfranchise are some of the best in video games, fromFar Cry 3’sunstable Vaas, played by Michael Mando, toFar Cry 5’sJoseph Seed, who led a religious cult called the Project at Edens Gate, played by Greg Bryke.
The acting industry is a big one, and the actors in previousFar Crygames have come from all corners of the industry, from the actor Troy Baker who playedFar Cry 4’sPagan Min, to the Hollywood star Giancarlo Esposito who playedFar Cry 6’sAnton Castillo. IfFar Cry 7does happen, it will need to have someone who is already well-versed in playing various villainous characters.
The Best Possible Actors for Far Cry 7’s Villain
Neil Newbon
Best known for his role as Astarion inBaldur’s Gate 3, for which he has won two awards, Neil Newbon has a wide range of acting talents and has played a variety of different characters, from protagonists and heroes to antiheroes and villains.Newbon has portrayed many characters in video gamesover the years, and he is no stranger to portraying a myriad of villains in video games.
What makes Newbon a great choice for aFar Cryvillain is his role asBaldur’s Gate 3’sAscended Astarion,Resident Evil Village’sKarl Heisenberg,Resident Evil 3’sNicholai Ginovaef, andDetroit: Become Human’sElijah Kamski. Out of those four characters, Ascended Astarion and Karl Heisenberg might have the most cult-like vibe about them, especially since Heisenberg is part of a cult inRE: Village, and it’s hinted thatBaldur’s Gate 3’sAscended Astarionis taking part in cult-like activities, and a cult vibe has been rumored forFar Cry 7.
Maggie Robertson
Out of all theResident Evilvillains, Maggie Robertson’s Lady Dimitrescu is the most iconic villain in the franchise. Not only has Robertson played aResident Evilvillain, but she also plays one of the creepiest and demented villains inBaldur’s Gate 3, Orin the Red. If there’s anyone who would make an excellent fit for a new femaleFar Cryvillain, it’s Maggie Robertson.
TheFar Cryfranchise isn’t known for having its titular villain a woman, and the onlyFar Crythat had its female villains on the cover was the spin-off title and sequel toFar Cry 5,Far Cry: New Dawn. Most female villains inFar Cryare usually secondary antagonists and are one of the main underlings for the big bad villain. If Ubisoft decides to go in a new direction and have its core villain a woman, then Maggie Robertson should be considered for the role, as both Orin the Red andResident Evil Village’sLady Dimitrescuare perfect examples of why she would be a great fit to play aFar Cryvillain.
Mark Hamill
Everyone knows Mark Hamill for his roles as Luke Skywalker inStar Warsand the Joker in theBatmanfranchise, but not many people know that he voiced Goro Majima in the English dub of the originalYakuzagame on PS2. Even though Hamill is well known for the heroics of Luke Skywalker, he has built a repertoire of voicing bad guys and villains across various animated shows and films.
IfFar Cryis looking for an actor who is no stranger to voicing iconic villains, then they should consider Mark Hamill for the role. His portrayal of the Joker in both the animated shows and films and the video games ofBatmanis unparalleled. Not only is he the Joker, but he also plays Zuko’s sinister father,Fire Lord Ozai inAvatar: The Last Airbender. Hamill is no stranger to voicing a myriad of villains.
