Although many fans are eagerly awaitingDragon Age: Dreadwolf, it stands to reason many would enjoy a well-done remaster or remake ofDragon Age: Origins, including former BioWare developer David Gaider. As many may know, Gaider is credited as the lead writer and creator of the setting, having worked onDragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, andDragon Age: Inquisition. He left BioWare in 2016 and co-founded Summerfall Studio in 2019, which is currently working onChorus: An Adventure Musical. Many would agree that recent years have seen a lot of remasters and remakes released, including from EA.Dead Space Remakelaunched earlier this year to high praise, as didMass Effect: Legendary Editionin 2021. Following it, many hoped thatDragon Agewould receive similar treatment, but that has not been confirmed yet.RELATED:Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Gives Early Look at Skill Tree, Warrior Class DesignGaider recently took to Twitter to call for a remaster ofDragon Age: Origins, which of all the titles, is “behind” the most graphically. Gaider asserts it even was at launch, despite how many folks believeDragon Age: Originsto be a masterpiece. Still, he posed an interesting prospect when he asked if his followers could “imagine it with brand new PS5-era bells and whistles?” In the replies, he’d follow up by asking, even, forDragon Age: Inquisition-level graphics for the game. He’d also suggest he’d want some character model improvements, so that Morrigan doesn’t have the shoulders of a linebacker, and improvement to theromance scenes inDragon Age: Origins.

Gaider isn’t the only former BioWare dev to explore the topic recently, though. Former BioWare Dev Mark Darrah recently posted a video on his YouTube channel where he discussed the differences between remasters and remakes, asking the question of “will we ever get a Dragon Age remake / remaster?”

Of course, it’s worth reiterating that neither developer is currently at BioWare. It’s definitely exciting to hear Darrah and Gaider muse over the idea, but neither BioWare nor EA have said anything in the slightest. Perhaps it’ll happen afterDragon Age: Dreadwolf’s release daterolls around, but as it stands, it’s only known that BioWare is working on the next entries in theDAandMEfranchises.
