OneElden Ringplayer gets in touch with their musical side as they engage with and defeat the Fire Giant boss with a “Squidward Build.” With a game that has a build system as versatile and wide asElden Ring’s, players can create any build they put their mind to. Besides creating a powerful build, the right combination of stats, weapons, and armor is also suited for players to dress up as their favorite characters, like that oneElden Ringplayer who made an incredible Kratos build. However, instead of a powerful god, this player took on the persona of a talking squid under the sea.

The Fire Giant is one of several required boss fights to allow the player to progress throughElden Ring’s main story, with the player needing to defeat him in order to get to the Crumbling Farum Azula. The Fire Giant fight is a tough two-phase boss fight due to the multitude of attacks that the boss uses, especiallyone annoying roll attack that the Fire Giant can spam. It is recommended if the player is a magic caster, to use a spell that is quick and hits hard.

One player, however, took a more musical approach to the fight, utilizing their so-called “Squidward Build.” Posting to r/Eldenring, user oh_diddums uploaded a clip of them, their character colored and dressed to look exactly like Squidward, fighting the Fire Giant with an Envoy’s Long Horn, a Great Hammer weapon only dropped by Large Oracle Envoys. While it can be used as a melee weapon, its more prominent ability is theBubble Shower skill found to be strong against dragons.

The player utilizes this attack against the Fire Giant, showering the weak spot with plenty of bubbles to damage them and bring them to the fight’s second phase. The second phase goes a bit easier, mostly due to the Fire Giant’s more open weak spot, and as such, this phase doesn’t last much longer with theElden Ringplayer taking them down with ease.

WithElden Ring’s customizability of builds, any character, within reason, is possible thanks to the wide variety of weapons, spells, and armor. With such versatility, any player can take on almost any boss as whoever they want to be, with evenlow-intelligence mage builds finding success inElden Ring. No matter what troubles a player may come across,Elden Ringprovides enough freedom for the player to explore with their build, whether it’s a genuinely powerful one or one that fits with a popular cartoon character.

Elden Ringis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
