Capcom’sDuckTales Remastered, the 2013 remake of a classic NES game based on theDisney Afternooncartoon, is back on sale after getting pulled from digital store shelves last August. Fans can once again grab Scrooge McDuck’s platforming adventure on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One (through the platform’s backwards compatibility program).

DuckTales Remasteredoriginally released at the tail end of the last console generation, keeping the title somewhat under the radar despite being based on a beloved property. Capcom handed development duties on the game to WayForward Technologies, whose other work includes theShantaeseries, titles based on properties likeAdventure TimeandTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and last year’sRiver City Girls.

Capcom announced the game’s return on its official blog, but did not comment on the circumstances behind its return or if the Android and iOS versions would also make a comeback. The publisherbrought prices down onDuckTalespretty heavily when the game was delisted from its supported platforms' stores last year, but the new listings place the title back at its original $15 price, so fans might want to wait until it goes on sale to get the best deal on the game.

The fact that players can getDuckTales Remasteredagain at all is certainly a win forgame preservationpurposes, since digitally released titles made with licensing deals aren’t always kept around past their initial release windows. Capcom and Disney have kept a surprisingly lengthy business relationship since the 1980s, collaborating on theDisney Afternoon CollectionandMarvel vs. Capcom Infinitein the years sinceDuckTalesreleased.

The original 1989 version of the 2D platformer remains well loved by fans as a faithful and fun, if difficult, adaptation of the adventures of Scrooge McDuck, and the remaster’s return should give those who missed out on WayForward’s rendition an opportunity to finally check it out.

DuckTalesreturned to TV in 2017with a rebooted continuity and its own take on Scrooge’s escapades with Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby. The new series uses a more serialized format in line with modern cartoons likeGravity Falls, but keeps the spirit of the original series (and the catchy theme song) intact. Both versions are available for streaming on Disney+.

DuckTales Remasteredis available on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360.
