YouTubecontent creator Dream is well known for a seemingly endless list of drama and controversies. He’s a young, incredibly successfulYouTuberthat has a large part of his life displayed across social media. This, in turn, leads to old Dream controversies feeding into new ones, creating a frustrating cycle. The latest example occurred just recently, as Dream responded to a Twitter post from Twitch streamer HasanAbi that led to him addressing his past political views.

The bizarre situation started with a tweet from Hasan regarding a recent stream involving Kickboxer,Big Brotherstar, andalleged sexual assaulter Andrew Tate. Dream responded to Hasan’s tweet with a sarcastic, mocking, and meme-filled take regarding women being attracted to Tate’s “top g energy.” The already heated topic led to Dream being a target of various responses ranging from the confused to those choosing to attack Dream for simply responding, regardless of what he said.

One response got under Dream’s skin, however. It accused Dream of being a “closeted republican” that’s probably a fan of Tate. This is in reference toDream allegedly being a Donald Trump supporterbased on a Reddit account associated with the YouTuber, as well as a range of social media posts some have described as racist. Dream decided to respond to this Twitter user, first with more sarcasm and then addressing the accusation more seriously.

To start, Dream points to the subject that the Twitter user is referring to, accusing them of only saying Dream is a closet Republican because of “doxed reddit posts from when I was 15 and couldn’t even vote.” TheYouTube content creatorthen elaborates, saying that he’s “sick” of the take that he still has the views on display within his old Reddit account. He goes on, saying, “let people change their views from when they were a kid.” In so many words, he then says people should let go of their “hate” and “think logically.”

What Dream doesn’t address is where his political views currently lie, but he certainly doesn’t owe that to anyone let alone someone targeting him online. He does, at the very least, appear to be rejecting his past views of support regardingDonald Trumpand other controversial political and cultural opinions. He wants to be allowed to have changed his views. Cutting through his sarcasm, he also touts his community as being positive toward women, the LGBT community, and abortion.

Overall, Dream’s conversation on Twitter is just another example of the kinds of small dramatic controversies he tends to find himself in. He’s already responding to a controversial subject with a messy response, only to then respond to arandom Twitter userbringing up an entirely different past controversy. In these moments, it’s important to recall that Dream is still 22 and, if anything, only grows in popularity by creating these situations. TheYouTubealgorithm loves controversy, after all.
