The Archer isthe first of four Vocationsthat players will unlock when they start theirDragon’s Dogma 2journey. Just like with many RPGs, this Vocation fills the role of the game’s ranged-based class. It gives gamers a bow, some arrows, and tells them to rain fire down on their enemies from afar. As long as they have someone protecting them, they can truly be a devastating opponent upon the battlefield.
As players grow in strength, they will be able to unlock all sorts of new abilities to decimate their opponents. Abilities like the Barrage Shot and Sweep Shot let them shoot out multiple arrows in fast succession, while the Exploding Shot and Tarring Shot let them use the elements to their advantage. Along with that, they can also learn various acrobatic tricks that let them launch themselves or their enemies across the air.
All of those abilities help makeaDragon’s Dogma 2Vocationthat can be pretty fun to play, as long as players are careful. It may not be the strongest of damage dealers, but what it lacks in damage it makes up for with its speedy attacks and mobility. Legolas has made a name for himselfas one of the coolest members of the Fellowship inThe Lord of the Rings. He is an Elf of the Woodland Realm who utilizes a bow to destroy anyone that comes into his path. In the films, he is often dodging, weaving, and unleashing arrows upon his enemies. He seems virtually unstoppable, and thanks to that adaptation, many viewers have found him to be the quintessential archer that other fantasy adventures should follow. And while players may not be elves,Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Archer seems to come pretty close.
It might not be as mobile as the likes of Legolas, but it still goes a long way in delivering that class fantasy. The arrows fly just as fast, the varying attacks feel ripped straight from those pages, and the swift kicks look like something Legolas has done once or twice. As players progress further through the game, they will also unlock a powerful magical variantknown as the Magick Archer, which takes everything fun about the base version and injects even more tricks into it.
Dragon’s Dogma 2may not actually put players in the shoes of Legolas, however, it comes pretty close. Anyone looking to live out that Archer fantasy in a magical world may find that right here. And since it does not seem like there is a Legolas-centric video game adventure on the horizon, fans of the character might have to rely on these types of experiences for now.
