The Dr Disrespect controversy started in 2020 when he was permanently banned from Twitch, seemingly out of nowhere. The reason behind Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban remained a mystery for years, until an ex-Twitch employee decided to let the cat out of the bag, accusing the streamer of exchanging inappropriate messages with a minor using the Twitch Whispers feature.Disrespect eventually released a statement admittingthat he messaged a minor, while also declaring that he would eventually make a comeback. Disrespect has since gone radio silent as brands and games that were formerly associated with him start to distance themselves.
The latest game to pull its Dr Disrespect content isRogue Company, a free-to-play third-person shooter published by Hi-Rez Studios that was first released in 2020.Rogue Companywasted little time introducing Dr Disrespect content to its game, adding a map designed by the controversial streamer along with a premium skin of his likeness in the same month as its launch. TheRogue CompanyDr Disrespect skincost $20 at the time of its release, but anyone that spent money on it will find that it’s no longer available to use in the game. Unfortunately, those impacted by this aren’t getting a proper refund.

The officialRogue CompanyTwitter account confirmed that Dr Disrespect content in the game has been disabled. Users are being refunded Rogue Bucks instead of real money. For the uninitiated, Rogue Bucks are the premium currency that users buy to in turn buy content inRogue Company.Rogue Companyisn’t exactly the world’s most popular gameat the moment, and so a Rogue Buck refund likely doesn’t mean much to impacted consumers. This has caused a stir online, as some have taken to social media to voice their disapproval over the way this is being handled by theRogue Companyteam.
Rogue Companyis just the latest video game to distance itself from Dr Disrespect.NBA 2K24is removing its Dr Disrespect content, and Midnight Society, the game development studio that the streamer founded, has also cut ties.
