Character creation is a major part of many RPGs, as it gives the player a chance to make the story feel like it belongs to them. With the release of Bandai Namco’s upcomingScarlet Nexusonly a few days away, many players are wondering whether or not this feature will be included in the game. In most of the trailers that have been shown thus far, players had the chance toget to know Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall, both of whom have been confirmed to be the playable characters for the game. That said, having set playable characters doesn’t always mean that character creation isn’t included.
Particularly in the case of Yuito Sumeragi, these characters look fairly standard for anime protagonists. Fans are hopeful that a character creator will allow them to change the appearance of either Yuito or Kasane before starting the game.Scarlet Nexusplayers may find themselves disappointed in that aspect, however.

There is no character creation inScarlet Nexus.Players are stuck with Yuito and Kasane and can’t do too much to change their appearance either. For those hoping to create their own member of the OSF, that also doesn’t seem to be an option sincethere are no multiplayer aspects toScarlet Nexus. Instead, players will progress through an exclusively single player story with these two premade characters. While this may be disappointing to fans that love customizing and creating characters, there does appear to be at least some level of customization available.
In the pause menu under the equipment tab, players will find a visuals section. This will allow players to change minor details about their character, but nothing fundamentally about how they look. It’s always possible that these kinds of features will be added to the game at a later date, but players shouldn’t hold their breath for this. Instead, it’s best to assume thatcharacter creation will not be inScarlet Nexusfor the foreseeable future.
It should be said that there are plenty of other reasons to look forward toScarlet Nexusaside from character creation. Those thatplayed the demo had mostly positive things to sayabout it, citing enjoyable and fast paced gameplay. Likewise, early reviews for the title have also been good, making it seem as though Bandai Namco has outdone itself this time. As long as players approachScarlet Nexuswith the understanding that this isn’t anotherCode Veingame, then they should be good.
Scarlet Nexusreleases on June 25th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
