InDisney Dreamlight Valley’s “Pride of the Valley” update, players welcomed fan favorite characters Simba and Nala, fromThe Lion King, to the valley along with their majestic home, Pride Rock. Each of theseroyal lions has their own quest series, where they embark on a journey to recall their memories and rediscover their roles in the Valley.

Nala’s quests revolve around peculiar findings in the valley, such as the discovery of broken lion statues resembling her and the appearance of troublesome fish that are causing issues for the villagers. Here is everything players need to know aboutstarting and completing the quest titled “The Heart of a Lioness"inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
How To Start “The Heart Of A Lioness”
The quest “The Heart of a Lioness” is unlocked inDisney Dreamlight Valleyonce the player reachesFriendship Level 7withThe Lion King’s Nala. This new quest continues Nala’s investigation into the strange occurrences involving mysterious portals, fish and her own role in the valley. Before the player can start this quest, they must first complete Nala’sprevious Friendship quest, “Fishy Business,“available at Friendship Level 4.
How To Complete “The Heart Of A Lioness”
When speaking with the player, Nala expresses her concern about the presence of peculiar rifts that have formed above the rivers and lakes of the valley. These rifts are causing an influx of weird invasive fish, making it difficult for the valley’s residents to catch the fish they need. Below is a walkthrough of the specific tasks required to complete the quest “The Heart of a Lioness” inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
Catch Fish for Moana, Remy, and Donald
In light of recent occurrences, Nala requests the player’s assistance in helping some of the villagers catch specific fish that have proven challenging to reel in since the rifts appeared. She asks them to catch the following fish for each of these villagers:
It’s recommended to bring along acompanion with the Fishing role, which can grant bonus fish and speed up the process. Once the player has caught the required fish, they should deliver them to the respective villagers and then return to Nala.
Investigate Wall Markings in Pride Rock
During the player’s conversation with Nala, she mentions peculiar markingson the wall inside Pride Rockthat warrant investigation. She believes these markings may convey some kind of message and requests the player’s assistance in examining them further.
Head toPride Rockand interact with the paw prints on the wall at the back of the cave, which will cause aMemory Orbto appear. Collecting the orb unlocks a memory depicting the three lion statues involved with the previous quest, “Fishy Business.” The diagram suggests that the rifts, Dream Shards, and Weird Fish are all involved in the creation of the stones embedded in each statue.

Nala concludes that the lion statues require hearts and asks the player to gather the necessary items to craftthree Enchanted Hearts. Additionally, she suggests speaking with Minnie Mouse, as she believes Minnie may possess something that could help solve the mystery.
To craft the Enchanted Hearts Nala has requested, the player will need to complete the following steps:
Gather Weird Fish and Dream Shards
First, catch threeWeird Fishfound in pools located near the Mystical Rifts. These rifts are the purple glowing portals that have appeared over various bodies of water in Dreamlight Valley. To catch the Weird Fish, head to the Mystical Rifts located inDazzle Beach,Frosted Heights, andGlade of Trust, and fish in the orange pool closest to each rift. The Weird Fish is a guaranteed catch from these pools.
Next, gathernine Dream Shards. Dream Shards have a chance of spawning when the playerclears out Night Thorns,so if they do not already have a stockpile this may take some time to collect the necessary amount.
Speak with Minnie to Acquire Her Bow
Once the player has acquired the three Weird Fish and nine Dream Shards, pay a visit to Minnie Mouse. Minnie may havean item from the Here and Therethat can provide valuable assistance. Speak with her to acquire her beloved red spotted bow, which she willingly hands over to help resolve the issues afflicting the valley.
Craft 3 Enchanted Hearts
With the required materials in hand, head to any crafting station and select the Potions & Enchantment category. Within this category, the player will find the option to craft the three Enchanted Hearts for Nala.
Once the Enchanted Hearts have been crafted, return to Nala and present them to her. Nala then comes to the realization that her role in the valley involves safeguarding these hearts, which will be further explored in her final Friendship quest, “Here and There and Back Again.”
Disney Dreamlight Valleyis available on PC, PS5, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is currently in early access, with a full release expected in 2023.
