Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas several core mechanics that are used throughout the game, and cooking is one of them. Whether it is for a quest or for simply needinga means to restore Energyquickly, cooking has many uses. Even at release, there were many recipes for players to discover and many more were added between all the updates during Early Access andA Rift in Time.
Obviously, there are recipes that utilize all the new ingredients that can be found exclusively on Eternity Isle, but there are some new recipes that don’t require anything that you can’t already get in Dreamlight Valley and Latkes are one of them.
How to Make Latkes
Latkes are a four-star entree recipe that can be cooked by using only baseDisney Dreamlight Valleyingredients. The four ingredients needed to make Latkes are:
Potatoes can be grownby purchasing seeds from Goofy’s Stall in the Forgotten Lands. When planted, potatoes will take up to 35 minutes to be ready for harvesting.Onions can be grown as wellby purchasing seeds from Goofy in the Forest of Valor. Onions are ready to be harvested after an hour and fifteen minutes have passed (after they have been watered, of course).
Canola seeds can also be purchased in the Forest of Valor, and they will take 35 minutes to be ready for harvesting. Finally, eggs can be purchased from Remy’s Restaurant for 220 Star Coins. Of course, you will need to have unlocked Remy’s Restaurant first.
Latkes restore 1,280 Energy when they are eaten. This is an average, at best, amount of Energy for a four-star recipe,as there are still significantly better recipesthat restore 3,000 energy or more. Some good examples are Fugu Sushi or Pan-Fried Anglerfish as they restore 3,261 Energy and 4,194 Energy respectively.
Since the ingredients for Latkes do not require anything from Eternity Isle, this makes it fairly easy to make Latkes even if it is just for the sake of unlocking all the recipes. Beyond restoring your Energy, Latkes have a chance of being an order at Remy’s Restaurant. On top of that, Latkes also can potentially be the daily favorite item for one of the many characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It is possible that future quests will require Latkes as an objective, so it isn’t a bad idea to make some and store it.
