Summary

With the release of Patch 1.1.1, the Nightmare Dungeon tier list has seen some changes inDiablo 4, and players interested in optimizing their leveling path should pay heed to it. Though player complaints continue to flood social media when it comes to the endgame inDiablo 4, Patch 1.1.1 was a huge step in the right direction in fixing the major shortcomings of Blizzard’s latest title. Increased mob density, one of the most requested features since launch, has finally been added toDiablo 4.

Diablo 4’s treasure goblins, often criticized for a lack of guaranteed Legendary drops, have similarly been given a much-deserved buff, and Unique items have had their stats adjusted to provide better benefits to allDiablo 4classes. However, mob density has had the biggest effect on Nightmare Dungeon farming by far, as the new update effectively tripled experience gain across all instances. The once-empty dungeons ofDiablo 4are now closer to their Greater Rift counterparts, and the response from the community has largely been positive.

Diablo Compendium, a YouTube content creator who primarily coversDiablo 4, managed to assemble and thoroughly test all Nightmare Dungeons following the release of Patch 1.1.1, sharing his results in the form of a tier list, chart, and accompanying video. The overall winner seems to be Hoarfrost Demise, which ranked second in Experience Gain, and first in Glyph Farming. For players primarily concerned withleveling up theirDiablo 4character, Uldur’s Cave beats out Hoarfrost Demise by a noticeable margin.

Other notable options are Immortal Emanation, Domhainne Tunnels, Mariner’s Refuge, Nostrava Deepwoods, Sarat’s Lair, Pallid Delve, and Forgotten Ruins. Conversely,Diablo 4players should avoid Heretic’s Asylum and Bastion of Faith if they can help it, as they offer less than half of the Experience Gain of an Uldur’s Cave or Hoarfrost Demise run. Though they have no control over the Nightmare Sigils or the dungeon it corresponds to, they can reset a Nightmare Dungeon and endlessly farm it for experience with the help of a friend.

Given that classes enjoy tremendous benefits withParagon Boards inDiablo 4, it is important to know where the best source of experience can be, as the journey to reach the level cap is a far more daunting task compared to the more accessibleReaper of Souls. Though there are still some key features missing fromDiablo 4, the changes in Patch 1.1.1 have managed to successfully address the experience nerfs initially introduced in Season of the Malignant.

Diablo 4is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
