Summary
Xur has returned again toDestiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. TheDawning rolls forward inDestiny 2, giving players a second week of opportunities to continue baking cookies, finishing event challenges, and looking for those perfect rolls for weapons like the Albedo Wing.
Alongside The Dawning, Bungie gave players a quick update on its efforts to fix a longstanding bug related to the Restoration buff. Players have been dealing with afrustratingDestiny 2bug that essentially wipes out the Restoration buff timerwhen picking up resources like Firesprites, though a fix is on the way. Bungie confirmed that it originally intended to release a fix for the Restoration bug alongside The Final Shape, giving the studio more time to test the fix to prevent other issues. However, after the delay to the Final Shape, Bungie is now looking to release a fix for the complex bug during a mid-season update.
In the meantime, Xur is back again with a whole selection of exotics and legendaries forDestiny 2players over the next few days. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of July 22, 2025.
Where is Xur?
This weekend, Xur can be found hiding out at the Winding Cove in the EDZ.
Simply take the fast travel point from the Winding Cove, EDZ location, then run to the back of the area after loading in. Xur can be found standing on a ledge above the path, near some Fallen wreckage.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Felwinter’s Helm - Warlock helmet
Exotic Perk:
Warlord’s End - Powered melee final blows create a burst of energy that weakens nearby targets. Finishers and final blows against more powerful targets increase the radius of the burst and the length of the weakening effect.
Another exotic to receive a tweak during Season of the Wish, Felwinter’s Helm remains an exotic that is fairly niche, and likely isn’t something at the top of most Warlock players' tier lists. The roll is also the lowest of the bunch this week, so it can be safely passed.
Celestial Nighthawk - Hunter helmet
Hawkeye Hack - Precision final blows reduce the cooldown of the player’s Super. Modifies Golden Gun to fire a single, high-damage shot. Targets defeated by that shot give Super energy and explode.
Already a popular choice for Golden Gun players, theCelestial Nighthawk got a buff with the Season of the Wish update, making this item a bit stronger. While the roll is okay at best, it’s worth a pick up for those who don’t yet have it.
Synthoceps - Titan gauntlets
Biotic Enhancements - When the player is surrounded, gain increased melee and Super damage, as well as improved weapon handling and reload speed.
While the stat roll is exceptionally high this week, the Synthoceps also got tweaked with Season of the Wish, losing the extended melee range and getting a slight nerf to the PvE surrounded melee damage bonus. It’s not a must buy.
Stat Values (68 total):
Exotic Weapon
Theone-timeDestiny 2pre-order exotic Coldheartis now available with Xur. Coldheart fires a beam of cold energy thanks to its exotic perk Cold Fusion. When combined with its other perk, called Longest Winter, the beam does increased damage the longer it remains on a target.
Trace rifles, while fun to use, aren’t typically a go to weapon these days, especially with a buff to rocket launchers and the return of thereworked Dragon’s Breath exotic. Either way, there are much stronger options than this.
Weapon perks:
Hawkmoon Rolls
At this point,Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
