Kojima Productions build difficulty inDeath Strandingnaturally – quite literally. Getting around inDeath Strandingis difficult by design and, as players progress through the world, they’ll encounter increasingly hard-to-navigate landscapes. While lugging around heavy packages is hard at the best of times, it’s all the more so in the BT-infested snowy mountains towards the end of the game.
The best method to get around on foot while carrying heavy loads is by using the variety of exo-skeletons available to Sam. Arguablythe best and most difficult to acquire is the All-Terrain Exo-Skeletonwhich improves Sam’s footing on all landscapes, increasing speed in snowy areas and reducing the likelihood of falling.Getting this skeleton isn’t easy, however, and requirestraveling to the far north during Episode 6.

Where is the All-Terrain Skeleton? (Mild Spoilers Ahead)
To obtain the All-Terrain Skeleton, players must acquire the blueprints to make them. In order to do this, they mustdeliver their first package to the Roboticist prepper in the mountains southeast of Mountain Knot City.
During Episode 6: Deadman, players will be tasked with establishing knots in the area around Mountain Knot Citywithout the help of their all-important BB. To find the Roboticist, first, accept “[Order No. 47] High-bounce Spring Delivery” from the terminal in Mountain Knot.
Preparing for the Journey
Reaching the Roboticist is difficult even with BB, asmany BTs stand between the City and the Prepper. Before the journey, be sure to rest and prepare, bringing along someEX-grenades to help with any BTs that attack. They’re typicallyfound by the eroded ruins on the way up. Though completely obscured without Sam’s BB, the creatures can still be avoided bystaying low and moving slowly, carefully examining the ground for signs of movement, and using EX grenades to make them flee.Sneaking up close will also allow Sam to untether them, sending them back to the Beach permanently.
With luck, other players may have left ziplinesto beeline to the Roboticist and travel above the BTs, thoughpack some Level 2 PCCs and materials to help build a quick routebetween the locations.Finding high peaks and placing ziplineswill help tremendously with transporting items across these mountains. Players will be unable to build ziplines all the way to the Roboticist until she is connected to the chiral network after delivering the first package, but they’ll still be able to get quite close.

Each zipline costs 240 Chemicals and 480 Special alloys, so provided players aren’t already carrying a heavy load, they should be able to craft a few by carrying the materials on Sam’s back. They are capable of sending Sam a maximum of 300 metersat their base level while upgrading them will increase their range by 50 meters and will make themmore resistant to Timefall.
Delivering the Order
Once players deliver Order No. 47,the Roboticist will connect to the chiral network and give Sam the blueprints for the All-Terrain Skeleton Level 1. To craft it, enter Sam’s fabrication menu and build it for 140 Resins and 140 Ceramics. The Level 2 and 3 blueprints will be unlocked by reaching Rank 3 and 4 with the Roboticist, so continue delivering standard orders to her formore incredibly useful gadgets.
