OneDead Spacefan has flexed their mastery of the game’s kinesis ability by deftly flipping an explosive canister to land right-side up. Whether they had too much time on their hands, possess expert-level knowledge of physics inDead Space,or a little bit of both, the feat is irrefutably impressive.

TheDead Spaceremake launched on January 27 as a certifiable hit. Motive Studios delivered the goods on the fan-favorite survival horror franchise by providing a faithful remake that improves in all the right places without denigrating Visceral Studio’s source material. With stunning graphics, fine-tuned gameplay, and inspiring attention to detail, 2023’sDead Spaceis the precedent that all future remakes should strive for. The unique dismemberment-based combat is as gruesomely captivating as fans remember. The substantial fidelity face-lift provides one of the most immersive and visceral experiences in all survival horror, and the decision to forego a silent protagonist in favor of giving Isaac a voice is also being lauded as a phenomenal addition to the game.

User Kennet-Ny posted theiradeptDead Spaceskillson Reddit in a clip that fans are sure to find satisfying. Using the kinesis ability in the game, which allows players to telekinetically manipulate objects as shields or weapons, Kennet-Ny picks up an explosive cylindrical canister and gently chucks it into the air. The first few attempts gauge the necessary applied force before the successful bottle flip is achieved. On their third try, the canister does a half-rotation in a gracefully slow arc, landing with a satisfying clink as it wobbles for a beat, then settles just right, landing vertically. The clip is surprisingly earnest, as Kennet-Ny could have easily edited out the initial attempts, but instead decided to share their trial-and-error process to Reddit.

TheDead Spaceremake has impressed across the board, and its physics system is no exception. The kinesis ability showcases the amount of interplay possible between non-fixed objects and presents creative gameplay options for tackling the game’s most difficult segments. The exploding canisters utilized in Kennet-Ny’s bottle flip challenge are incredibly useful as high-damage projectiles when trying to conserve precious ammo. Their volatile nature makes Kennet-Ny’s feat all the more impressive, as too forceful an impact would almost certainly lead to Isaac’s fiery death.

Many fans are hopeful thatMotive Studio’s success in remakingDead Spacewill lead to the green-lighting of the two entries in theDead Spacetrilogy. EA has yet to make any announcement, but until it does, videos like Kennet-NY’s work to tide over the franchise’s hungry fan base.
