Dead by Daylighthas been updated to version 7.4.2. While one of the more recent patches introducedChucky toDead by Daylight, the current patch focuses on some character balancing involving a few Killers and minor bug fixes which should make the game more competitive for players. The flashlight and a few perks were recently disabled due to some issues that needed to be worked on. However, this has now been addressed in the update.
Regular fixes are introduced to keep the game fresh and balanced as it grows. Live service games such asDead by Daylightnormally have their content plannedout with roadmaps that will dictate the game’s direction. While these year-long previews normally list out major content updates such as new Killers, Survivors, and changes in mechanics, the introduction of new elements sometimes causes unexpected side effects for existing assets. This is where the minor bug fix patches come in.
TheDead by Daylightteam shared the patch notes for the latest update 7.4.2. The biggest item mentioned involves the re-enabling of the flashlight, and perks such as Residual Manifest, Dramaturgy, and Appraisal. However, some adjustments have also been made with The Trickster, as well as the newest Killer, The Good Guy. Chucky gets a minor boost to its Batteries Included perk, while The Trickster has several adjustments to his Main Event ability. Apart from these things, some visual fidelity concerns and in-game behavioral issues were taken care of. These fixes help keep the game stable and consistent for all players.
Chucky’sDead by Daylightabilities, while already good, needed more juice. In addition, the Trickster’s adjustments were something that Behaviour Interactive had already implied previously. With a few Killer reworks coming up, these two characters were the first to receive minor tweaks. Many players expect that changes will also be introduced to other Killers as well as Survivor perks in the future.
With so much in store forDead by Daylight in 2024, players are already looking forward to the next line of updates. A lot of quality-of-life features are being slated from January to March. The Onryo, The Hillbilly, and The Blight will be the focus of the adjustments to come in the 1st quarter of 2024, with the rest to be fixed throughout the year.Dead by Daylightcontinues to have a strong following to this day, and many fans hope that all these updates will help continue the game’s growth positively, so it can maintain its success.
