Colman Domingo responded to rumors claiming Marvel Studios is eyeing him to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang inAvengers 5. However, the acclaimed actor is seemingly in the dark as much as fans.
Majors made significant waves in February 2023when he headlinedAnt-Man 3as the main villain, Kang The Conqueror. However, the actor’s name was sullied in late March when Majors was arrested in New York City and subsequently tried for assault and harassment, later being found guilty of two misdemeanor counts. Marvel Studios dropped Majors as Kang and is faced with choosing a new villain forAvengers5or recasting the role, with Domingo rumored to be a potential contender.

The news thatDomingo might replace Majors as Kangwas reported by Daniel Richtman, who often reveals scoops for Marvel films. During an interview withEntertainment Tonightbackstage at the 35th Annual Palm Springs Award, Domingo addressed theAvengers 5recasting rumors head-on. “I’m always looking at what I have to do right now… I know there’s talk and conversations around, and I don’t know how much is true,” He stated. “I don’t even get that from my team, I can’t tell if it’s true or not.”
While Domingo is seemingly in the dark, he appears to appreciate the support he’s received from fans. “The fans are passionate,” he adds. “Somehow my name is out there in the world [and] I like the idea of just having your name called and someone speaking lovingly and kindly about something is a beautiful thing.”
It is not confirmed if Domingo will play Kang inAvengers 5, but with Majors out and Domingo receiving lots of buzz, it would not seem out of the ordinary if he were to step into Kang’s shoes.
