A clever player has recreatedDoom2016 cover art inMinecraft. An opportune moment for the recreation arose when Zombified Piglins attacked the player’s friend during aMinecraftsession.
For over a decade, people have been usingMinecraftto recreate many wonderful things; creations range from The Krusty Krab fromSpongeBobtoWorld of Warcraftdungeons, and evenAfrica by Toto has been recreated inMinecraft. The building block style allows for a myriad possibilities, only limited by one’s own imagination and perseverance. The creative mode available in the game makes for a much easier time making these ideas come to life. The freedom offered by creative mode means that those wishing to explore their imagination rather than the generated world have the chance to do so in peace. In survival mode, the threat of attack is almost always present, and for some this can also lead to creation.

Reddit user Platinumspoons has demonstrated such creativity in their post recreating a piece of iconicDoomcover art from 2016. While exploring the Nether, the user’s friend angered a horde of Zombified Piglins, at which time Platinumspoons was able to get a perfectly timed screenshot. With a little bit of editing, the Reddit user successfully framed the image to match the famous cover art almost exactly. The friend stood atop an unseen mound as the swarms of Piglins gathered at their feet, bathed in red hues. Unlike other creations, such as the timefans putDoom 2directly intoMinecraft, this creation came from a moment of chance; the organic nature of the image makes it feel all the more special.
Despite the great framing, and obvious likeness to theDoomart in question, Reddit users were keen to address other elements that are missing from the picture such as lava and Ghasts. Another user commented to reiterate the fact that it was a screenshot from gameplay, and that the friend’s character would likely be dead seconds later, meaning that the image is as perfect as circumstances would allow. While Piglins aren’tthe most annoying mob inMinecraft, the number would surely overwhelm the player quickly.
While the two games may be paced at considerably different rates, bothMinecraftandDoomthreaten to kill under prepared players within seconds. As one of themost brutal underworlds in gaming, much like Hell in theDoomfranchise, the Nether is not a place to hang around trying to take scenic pictures.
