Since it’s available as a standalone game, it’s easy to think ofCall of Duty: Warzoneas its own separate addition to the franchise. The fact remains, however, thatWarzoneis still connected toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, so any changes made to that game could potentially affect the other, and not always to great effect.
Modern Warfareis no stranger to technical issues, and it appears the trend has continued with the1.18 updatethat Infinity Ward released this week. Following its release, players have been reporting a number of new issues showing up in the game’s new battle royale mode, which have been causing all sorts of problems like letting players pick up weapons in the Gulag.

More problematic than that, though, is that it looks like the update accidentally broke the ability to self-revive. A large number of players have taken to theCall of Duty: Warzonesubreddit to report instances where the game failed to give them the option to use their Self-Revive Kits upon being gunned down in solo matches, resulting in them being directly sent to the Gulag or eliminated.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that Infinity Ward is aware of the problem, as the developer’spublic Issue Trackerconfirmed that it is looking into a bug where “players are unable to use self revive when playing Battle Royale solos.” Furthermore, in response to one Reddit user’s complaint about the issue, a Infinity Ward member replied by stating, “I just bugged this. We’re looking into [this].”
In all likelihood, this means a fix for this issue will be released soon. With how popularWarzonehas gotten in just over two weeks, it wouldn’t really be a good idea for Infinity Ward to sit on this problem, since it’s directly interfering with players’ ability to stay in a match.
On a brighter note, it looks like the game may be getting new team options in the near future. A recent leak on Reddit claims that Infinity Wardwill be adding duos and quads modes toWarzone, in addition to its default trios mode. So far this information remains unverified, but the recent addition of solo mode certainly suggests that the developer has more options planned.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
