Call of Duty: Modern Warfarejust recently launched, giving fans of the first-person shooter franchise the chance to play through a brand new campaign, battle it out in the traditional multiplayer modes, and team up with friends for co-op action in Spec Ops.Call of Dutyhas a reputation of delivering a wealth of content for players every year, but the campaigns are usually a little on the short side. One might be wondering if that’s any different forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.
After having played through theCall of Duty: Modern Warfarecampaign, we can confirm that it takes about as long to beat as any otherCall of Dutycampaign. There are 14 missions in theCall of Duty: Modern Warfarecampaign, and it took us roughly five hours to beat it from start to finish on Regular difficulty. If one cranks the difficulty up to Veteran or Realism, then they are likely to get a lot more playtime out of the campaign than others, but generally speaking, it should take mostCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers about five hours to beat the campaign.

Almost all of the achievements/trophies inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarerevolve around the campaign, so anyone looking to achieve 100% in the game will likely have to replay many of the levels. This adds a bit of replay value to the campaign, though for many it will likely be a one and done experience.
Of course, the bulk ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s replay value doesn’t come from the campaign. Instead players will likely spend most of their time playing multiplayer and tackling theSpec Ops missionswith friends. So even though theCall of Duty: Modern Warfarecampaign is pretty short compared to many other games on the market, the overall package is still quite extensive.
It’s worth pointing out thatCall of Duty: Modern WarfarePS4 players have even more content to sink their teeth into. That’s because there is aPS4-exclusive Spec Ops Survival mode, which is basically theCall of Duty-equivalent of Horde mode. Spec Ops Survival won’t be coming to PC or Xbox One until next year, soCall of Dutyfans on those platforms will want to take that into consideration as well.
