Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers think that Infinity Ward may be trolling them with some of its new Message of the Day posts. For the uninitiated,Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers get Message of the Day notifications in the game, and some fans think that some of these messages may contain nods to common fan complaints about the game.
For example, a recent Message of the Day inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewas about the divisiveEuphrates Bridge map. In it description of the map, the text reads: “Blown-out houses, destroyed buses and a neglected bridge provide seemingly endless places to hide.” This seems to be promoting “camping,” which many fans agree is a problem inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer, especially on the Euphrates Bridge map.

The second example of Infinity Ward possibly “trolling” fans with theCall of Duty: Modern WarfareMessage of the Day has to do with claymores. Since launch,claymores inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehave proven to be highly controversial, as many players feel they are overpowered. One doesn’t have to go looking far to find memes, forum posts, and more complaining about the claymores inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, so some have taken the recent Message of the Day encouraging players to use claymores as a tongue-in-cheek joke from Infinity Ward.
Of course, it’s possible that these Messages of the Day were written beforeCall of Duty: Modern Warfareeven launched, and they could just be coincidentally matching up with fan complaints about the game. If a new Message of the Day brings up thenotoriously overpowered 725 shotgun, then we will have a much better idea of Infinity Ward is intentionally “trolling” fans or otherwise poking fun at some of the common criticisms about the game.
In the meantime, it seems likely that Infinity Ward will make an effort to address some of the biggest fan complaints aboutCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.Patch 1.06 forModern Warfarehas already made some positive changes when it comes to the first-person shooter, and more updates are certainly on their way. What exactly these updates will entail remains to be seen, but we should find out in the coming weeks.
