Fans ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2are asking online for a crossover with theJohn Wickfranchise. A potential crossover would see Keanu Reeves armor up as an operator inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

TheCall of Dutyfranchise has experimented with crossovers for some time now. It started off small, with 2013’sCall of Duty: Ghostsreceiving a Snoop Dogg voice pack. But over the years, it has slowly become more and more common, withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2even featuring some of the world’s biggest soccer stars as playable Operators in-game. The transition to more outlandish crossovers as microtransactions hasn’t been popular with everyone, but it has been common for so long now that it’s normalized, especially with games likeFortnitehaving similar monetization systems.

The idea was posted to Reddit by user Dlan_JKG, showcasing Keanu Reeves' John Wick depicted as aCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2character. It would make a lot of sense, with the gun-fu fighting style seen in the popular film series resembling the run-and-gun gameplay ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It wouldn’t be the first crossover of its type for the game. Infinity Ward recently addedTMNT’s Shredder as a playable Operator inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. On the surface, that crossover doesn’t seem to make as much sense as a potentialJohn Wickcollaboration, but right now it’s all fan speculation.

Some in the thread voiced their support for the idea, with one player claiming that the release of aJohn Wickcrossover would be “printing money” for Activision. With therecent release ofJohn Wick: Chapter 4, the series has seen a big uptick in popularity as of late, and it would be a great way for the developer and movie studio to capitalize on the hype of both. Many gamers love having Keanu Reeves in their titles, with his role as Johnny Silverhand in 2020’sCyberpunk 2077only enhancing his reputation among gamers.

The support that developer Infinity Ward has provided to the game after its launch has been solid. Therelease ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2Season 2 Reloadedearlier this month provided a number of additions including a brand-new map for gamers to get their hands on, with some other features to keep players engaged. Fans who have enjoyed Infinity Ward’s most recent effort in theCall of Dutyfranchise will be hoping the support continues well into 2023, with Season 3 and beyond.
