WithCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2being the freshest release in theCall of Dutyseries, there are many players voicing what they’d like to change, and many wish for the return of aBlack Ops 1feature. Given that theCall of Dutyfranchise has branched in a few different directions over the years,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is missing things that fans became accustomed to in the past.
The firstCall of Dutywas released in 2004, and it has changed fromWorld War 2toBlack Ops,Advanced Warfare, and most recentlyCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with each installment garnering its own fan base. Each iteration offers its own improvements, but as time has progressed, someCall of Dutyplayersfeel that previous titles got something right where the most modern version fails. Pointing to a statistic tracking system that’s regularly buggy inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, some fans have suggested that the stat tracking ofBlack Ops 1would be more optimal.

Reddit user Foolsbrains69 has shared a postin which they recommend that the latest Activision FPS useBlack Ops 1’s combat record.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2has a complex UIthat some fans already struggle to navigate, and Foolsbrains69’s suggestion has been boosted by some players that are frustrated by bugs with the statistics menu.Call of Dutyplayers have always wanted to track their stats and how well they’ve done in recent matches, but some feelCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2isn’t quite as effective asBlack Ops 1.
Although someCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2players would prefer theBlack Ops 1combat record over the current system, weapon stats can still be tracked through multiple UI menus. The aforementioned record shows a plethora of stats including kills, deaths, accuracy, and a small grid that portrays the trajectory of the last five games based on a K/D ratio. Opening theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2stats menu ushers players to different sections for multiplayer,Warzonebattle royale, andDMZ, with each of them getting what some fans point to as a downgrade fromBlack Ops 1.
Because of the addedWarzoneandDMZgame modes, a new version of theBlack Ops 1system would take time in order to implement across all three existing options. WithCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2offering a variety of gameplay options in multiplayer alone, a modernized combat record may not be enough as some data would need to be added.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
