One small area thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayers are divided on is the use of a “Best Play” feature to conclude a match. SomeCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfans miss when a “Final Kill” was shown prior to a return to the lobby, and it seems like Treyarch has heard these complaints.

While a “Best Play” mechanic makes sense for lengthier matches such as Domination or Hardpoint, round-basedgame modes like VIP Escortand Search and Destroy are not a good fit for the mechanic. With rounds changing constantly and so much importance placed on the final gun battle of one-life game modes, the requests to go back to the old system are fair. Thankfully, Treyarch has listened, making changes to its Killcam system.

InCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s version of Search and Destroy, the controversial killcam systemof recentCall of Dutygames will be seeing some major tweaks soon. In a tweet from a fan named MW2 OG, the current system is criticized due to how it “killed the vibe” of the popular mode. Directly tagging Treyarch developer Matt Scronce and asking it any changes could be made, MW2 OG was given an exciting reply from the Treyarch team member.

Per Scronce’s response, Treyarch has a “design ready for a hybrid system that will play Best Play or Final Kill.” The system in question will cycle between best play and final kill depending on which is more exciting or impactful on the round, a clever concept that should please all players. Directly addressing one ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s problems is a great sign, and it could be the start of some heavily requesteddiscussions regarding skill-based matchmaking(though fans shouldn’t hold their breath).

While it remains to be seen if Treyarch is going to be equally transparent with other upcoming changes and additions, it was certainly nice to see Scronce keeping a fan in the loop regarding one way thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill be improved. It is also worth noting that, while the response is made to a question focused on Search and Destroy, Scronce never specifically says that the Killcam rework will be limited to one game mode — meaning that it could also come tomodes like Combine Arms. With the system being the best of both worlds, seeing it in all lobbies going forward should bewelcomed by fans.

With Treyarch developers still on holiday break, there is currently no ETA for the arrival of the ambitious Killcam system. Still,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayersshould be happy to know that their constructive criticism is being listened to.
