The Sentinel forces inNo Man’s Skyseem to become more and more dangerous with each update the game receives, but a strange bug that players have been encountering is causing the robotic drones to appear completely squished during combat. This is just one of many new glitches that have appeared since the launch ofNo Man’s Sky’s recentInterceptorupdate, which introduced a plethora of new information and content relating to the game’s mysterious Sentinel drones.

Thismost recent update forNo Man’s Skyhas received high praise from the game’s fans, with the introduction of new Sentinel starships and multi-tools presenting tons of new loot that players both old and new can benefit from acquiring. Such rarities can be found on the surface of new corrupted worlds, warped planets which serve as a host to reality glitches and new types of corrupted Sentinels. These dangerous new worlds also have a lot to offer for lore enthusiasts, as new building types can provide more information for those seeking to unravel the mysteries of the universe inNo Man’s Sky.

While the in-game universe is full of strange anomalies, some players have come across an unintended glitch affectingSentinels sinceNo Man’s Sky: Interceptorcame out. This bug causes the drones to look as if they’re two-dimensional assets in the game, appearing as completely flat sprites that fly around the screen. An example of this glitch in action was shared on Reddit by the user Riven_Hourglass, which shows the player engaging a flattened Sentinel in combat. Needless to say, this weird issue makes it extremely difficult to target the drone, though it undoubtedly offers a laugh for players fortunate enough to come across it in the game.

With starships presenting a staple aspect of the game, it’s no wonder that manyNo Man’s Skyfans have been largely invested in the now-obtainable Sentinel Interceptors that were added in the latest update. As is the case with nearly everything in the game, these Sentinel starships are procedurally generated, which means it’s easy forNo Man’s Skyplayers to discover their own interceptorwhich boasts a unique appearance. Of course, each star system accommodates its own range of ships, meaning that generous players can guide others toward some particularly awesome Interceptors that have already been discovered.

No Man’s Skyis certainly no stranger to bugs, though the small team of developers at Hello Games has an astounding record of resolving such issues as they arise with each update. Players can expect much more to come for the game in the near future, with Hello Games' founder Sean Murray hinting in a tweet earlier in the year that the team “has an even bigger year planned” for 2023.

No Man’s Skyis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
