However, Yuri’s abilities were powerless against the invasion of the giants who tore the seal open. Later on, Sung Jin-woo arrived at the scene and wiped out a significant portion of the Giant army. This leads to an intense battle between an unoriginal but powerful form of the Giant Monarch and Sung Jin-woo, resulting in the Monarch’s defeat.
6Thomas Andre’s Defeat
The unofficial battle between Thomas and Sung Jin-woo was a sensational fight that spiked fans' interest in the story. Hwang Dong-Su, an S-Rank Hunter under Thomas Andre, a nation-level hunter, craftily baited Sung Jin-woo into fighting him by using the Vice Master of Ahjin Guild, Yoo Jinho, as a hostage.
The whole situation spurred Thomas Andre into preventing Sung Jin-woo from harming Hwang. However, Thomas’s ego prevents him from viewing the situation from Jin-woo’s perspective, and an intense fight breaks out between the two immensely powerful hunters. After another S-Rank gate opens, the Beast Monarch arrives and chases the surrounding humans, viewing them as prey. A-Rank and B-Rank hunters couldn’t lay a scratch on the Monarch; most even ended up getting consumed by the Beast. This goes on until Thomas shows up, stopping the Beast Monarch in his tracks.

Surprisingly, Thomas puts up a good fight, overpowering the Monarch by using Spiritual Body Manifestation for a short while before the Beast Monarch takes the upper hand. The whole event results in Thomasreceiving grave injuriesbefore Sung Jin-woo shows up.
4Sung IL Hwan’s Fight with The Frost and Beast Monarch
After an intense battle between Querehsha, the Monarch of Plagues, the Frost Monarch, the Beast Monarch, and Sung Jin-woo, Jin-woo is impaled from behind, resulting in his death. However, it soon appears that the death was a mere transition for Sung Jin-woo’s true awakening as the Shadow Monarch.
To prevent Sung Jin-woo’s rebirth, the Monarchs try to attack him, but they are prevented by Sung IL Hwan, Jin-woo’s father. Consequently, the Monarchs engage in battle with Sung IL Hwan, but the former Hunter, who happened to be a Ruler Vessel, held his ground against these two monarchs before Jin-woo’s rebirth.
3Sung Jin Woo’s Fight with Three Powerful Monarchs
Sung Jin-woo’s fight with three Monarchs – the Monarch of Plagues, the Monarch of Frost, and the Monarch of Beastly Fangs – was one of the hottestbattles inSolo Leveling. At an early point in the fight, the Frost Monarch froze a large portion of Sung Jin-woo’s army; however, Beru breaks out and manages to fight the Plague Monarch.
Sung Jin-woo manages to kill the plague Monarch but is bombarded with attacks from the Ice Monarch and the Beast Monarch. Suddenly, the Beast Monarch impales Sung Jin-woo from behind, killing him.
2Sung Jin Woo’s Rematch with the Frost and Beast Monarch
After Sung Jin-woo’s death, he meets Ashborn, the true Shadow Monarch, who shares the history between him, the Monarchs, and Rulers. The hearty discussion ends with Jin-woo agreeing to be reborn as the Shadow Monarch. After Jin-woo’s rebirth, he commands the Frost Monarch to wait for him while he finds the Beast Monarch, who cowardly ran away from the battle.

Instantly, Jin-woo’s aura covers the whole Earth, and he spots the Beast Monarch at a distant location and teleports there. By using five attacks, Jin-woo kills the Beast Monarch without exerting much effort, exuding authority and immense power. After killing the Beast Monarch, Jin-woo teleports back to Frost Monarch’s location and gets rid of him too by only using a few attacks.

After Jin-woo defeats the three Monarchs that wreaked havoc on Earth, the Monarch of Dragons, Antares, revered as one of the most powerful Monarchs, decides to eliminate Sung Jin-woo. Later on, he appears on Earth through an S-Rank Gate with the Monarch of Transfiguration and the Monarch of the Iron Body.
Sung Jin-woo easily killed the latter and engaged in the most striking battle inSolo Leveling. Jin-woo unlocks Astralization and Antares transforms into a fearsome dragon, imbuing fear into Jin-woo’s summons, while attacking Jin-woo with destructive flames. On the other hand, Jin-woo responds with attacks of his own. However, the prolonged battle ends when the Rulers arrive and kill Antares.
